Another semester over

I'm not entirely done. Next week is finals and I've a buttload of work to do (I'm still doing it after midnight now) but I'm done trying to teach this lot for at least a few weeks (half my classes are a full year).

It's raining so much. I could swim in the puddles. I wonder if it's killing my internet which keeps going out. I lost an entire review. I'm unamused. sigh. I need to stop doing them directly in Goodread's browser. It's not the first I've lost.

I'm SO over DISH. After not having Turner network for weeks (Missed half of Attack on Titan) now they refused to pay CBS. Their CEO stays why should I pay you because you give it up free online. Okay maybe valid but mostly he doesn't want money out of his deep pockets. If it's not fixed by the time I come back from Christmas, I'll be with Direct. DISH sucks anyhow.

I'll be posting the first chapter (in theory) of the faux-Viking thing on my original fiction filter and probably chapter one of my nano (with a comparison to do) over the weekend as a stress release from test making. So if you want on that filter (or off it) just tell me.

Every now and then we think about getting dish, but then I hear about something like this and go "Nah." :P

Yeah, the networks really are gouging the cable/satellite companies though. I got a letter from my mom & pop cable company (Comcast's only cable competition in this town), and they said that the local over-the-air groups that air CBS, NBC & ABC are raising their rates to the point where they're forced to raise our rate by 17% in January. So, yeah, they all suck. And you can thank our wonderful Federal Government for once again finding a way to stick it to the consumer by allowing over-the-air stations to charge cable companies outrageous retransmission fees.
