cornerofmadness: Angel in drag holding up cards (death by books)

So I decided to go looking for reading challenges and I found one blog that had so many I feel inadequate. However, I picked off several that I am looking forward to doing.

I was already doing an alphabet challenge on my own so I'll just jump right into this one. alphabet challenge

I'm also doing the the TBR pile challenge. You know how many books I have for this. I'm aiming for over 40 books for this challenge.

2015TBR

Last year on another friend's post someone was a bit miffed at 'read a female author' bingo spot on the card we did last year (not entirely sure why but I'm thinking 'misunderstanding' covers it). The sad truth is female authors ARE very much under-read. There was a readwomen hash tag on twitter last year (and probably this year too). So to that end I'm doing the women challenge And hope to read at least 20 books by women this year.

And lastly the more challenging of them all, one with a bingo card, the full house reading challenge. This looks like fun.

Is anyone joining me for these?

Fun challenges! I usually find myself doing a lot of this except somewhat less formalised; I tend to hit a lot of squares on that bingo board by accident, especially since I like to search out a lot of literature from outside the US/UK.

The TBR challenge has become an absolute necessity. Once you start literally stumbling over unread books, it's either that or start throwing books out, and really, that's not going to happen.

They look to be fun. I try to read outside of the US/UK when I can (I read a ton of English mysteries and I'm trying to diversify that with some from Sweden/Norway etc). I could mostly cover that bingo without trying hard.

And yes the TBR pile has. I had to rent a storage unit for my books. I'm paying 40$ a month so my books have a place to live with the holiday decorations. Head desk.

It is but in this case unlike last year with two bingo cards, I can pretty much reuse and reuse these as they fit so in total between teh bingo card and the alphabet there's not more than 26 books

Yeah, I kinda figured that might be part of it.

Last year I made a point of not duplicating between the bingos and boy that was like 52 books or something. This will be relatively easy

And I'm trying not to use manga (unless I can't find an X or a Z, I have manga with those)
