How to be not even a mid-list author

I think I'm writing the book on that one judging by my royalty statement today. I'm shocked that DSP bought my second book and I'm not looking to it to do much better. M/M/M isn't a big seller because too many people believe polys can NOT be happy together. Ah well. They did buy it and I'll make something. I might regret not taking the 500$ advance. I'm trying not to complain about it since there's this Huge. Thing. right now where readers are beating up on authors who whine about sales or defend themselves or dare to use a pen name and well SO many other things. Sigh.

But if you want to see how I earned a whole four cents on one story head here.

12 day writing challenge Day 4:
Write a letter to an agent telling her how wonderful you are.

I took a pass on this one for a number of reasons. Mostly because exercise 12 is to pick sometime I wrote in days 1-11 and expand on it and you can't do that with this one. Also telling agents how wonderful we are is actually a no-no. It's seen as unprofessional. They only want to know about us if something we do pertains to the story. So if I ever write the novel about a podiatrist who gets hurt and has to go back to school THEN they want to know hey I'm a podiatrist. Besides I don't have waste time writing a letter to tell you all how wonderful I am. You already know I'm awesome :-)

Devo’s 1930’s mansion I love architecture and old homes. I have to say this one does nothing for me but I appreciate his attention to the historical detail.

Mom's macular degeneration isn't getting better. SHe's depressed. Also she had to have a shot in her eye again. At least it's not getting worse but suddenly her cataract in the same eye is getting worse.
