It's been an interesting couple of weeks. First I get a paid LJ and then another friend gifted me with Breaking Benjamin CD's (which I freaked the class out with in lab. These are country music folk  but I think they liked it) and stories and now someone's sending me books (I'm not sure how everyone feels about attention so I'll leave it at anonymous and you can take credit if you want). It's been very cool to see the generosity of friends. And now another one is sending me stuff even though I still owe money, part of her christmas gift and her birthday gift might be late too...because I suck and I'm lazy. I think I'll try to get that done today. THANK YOU  each and every one of you. It's appreciated.

Now for the pimpages. First up  [livejournal.com profile] marenfic 's BtVS/AtS Sandwich ficathon. It's for threesomes so an open mind for the hotness is necessary and if you can be a tad kinky that might help. The requests are interesting to say the least (guess what you'll be reading [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog  and a deadline that's way out in the summer, thankfully!

The Fade to Black awards had trouble with their judges so they're going to voting. Sigh. You know how I don't like to ask friends to go vote for me but if you would (or for other of your favorite authors who are now in the same boat) I'd appreciate it.

And another pimp, check out [livejournal.com profile] scribesds group project at Project Paranormal. It's a virtual series post Chosen/Not Fade Away with some of what was proposed for 'Ripper' in mind. Buffy, Angel and Giles are the main protagonists. Some real good stories are up already. I'm still working on my story for the series.

I think so. I hope you'll come back around and read. We decided for the first run to keep 'guest appearances' to a minimum. (so not going to see much of the other guys beyond the three i mentioned)

I'm always amazed at the number of fans that didn't care all that much for the lead character. I didn't mind her in the early years (I preferred Giles though). I'm still okay with her but they did manage to ruin her character pretty well

See earlier discussion on Spike..

No, I loved her the first year, she was a great hero, brave when facing the Master, witty, caring when dealing Billy and Willow. I began to lose respect for her over Angelus, and gave up with her over her behaviour dealing with Faith.

Still, she had her determenation and courage.

Then came Spike...

I didn't mind her handling of Faith. She tried to help. Faith didn't want it. She deserved what she got. Now, her attitude toward ANgel and Faith in S1 of Angel was so OOC that i can't watch that episode.

I can understand Faith not trusting any of the Scoobies after they abadoned her in a crappy hotel when both Buffy and Giles had homes she could have stayed in. Given the lack of love she'd had in her life, why should Faith trust them after that?

Plus I wish she'd gone after Faith before Angel was injured. Again, it was like no one else but Angel mattered.

Angel S1? It was the start of General Buffy that would fill S7.

I doubt seriously Faith would have stayed with them. Yes, I can see her being angry that they didn't ask but Faith displays a very specific pathology common to abused children (which with an alcoholic mom, it's a safe bet she was).

But this has always angered me. Giles didn't do much for her. and what does the council do, send Wes. I've never understood why teh Slayers don't get paid. Buffy can barely stay alive financially and they do nothing. Faith lives in a prostitute hotel and they do nothing.

Zero argument.

No arguments there. Although strictly speaking when the Council didn't pay Buffy (I'm assuming you're talking after Willow cast the resurrection shuffle), she'd told them to go to hell, so why should they pay her?

Well there is that. But they never do pay the Slayers from what I gather. They don't seem to think of the Slayers as human. They're just tools...and badly treated ones at that if Faith and Buffy are any indication

What got me about the Giles relationship with Faith was it was completely OOC (Buffy I understand because she didn't like sharing the spotlight). Anya, Tara, and Cordelia all got more respect. Which didn't make sense as none were Slayers.

My theory, Eliza's always said she was signed for 5 eps, maybe they didn't bother writing her having any interaction with anyone bar Buffy in her first few eps because she was only meant to be a temporary character. By the time ME decided to extend her run it was too late.

Signed up to the Project Paranormal mialing list!

You know you're probably very right about that. That was the same thing with Angel (and Spike and Wes for that matter). The curse should never have needed explaining because Angel was slated to die in a few eppies. Still they could have figured out something better.

cool.

Angel was slated to die? Did not know that.

That's another thing that bugged me. When Giles found out about the curse why didn't the stuffy accademic within him bother to research the curse? If nothing else you'd think he'd be interested.

yeah he was only slated for a few eppies and he assumed Angel was slated to die (DB that is)

Hmm Good point about Giles. And were the gypsies the stupidest people on the face of the earth? WHY would you put in a clause that frees the monster?

WHY would you put in a clause that frees the monster?

Maybe a spell that powerful had to have a release clause?

No, it never made any sense to me either.

The only possible reason I can think of is to ensure he had to always suffer. BUT that's pointless unless the subject of the spell knows about the escape clause.

Besides, just because he's got a spell, doesn't mean he's going to feel remorse for his actions. There's plenty of people who've killed more than even Angelus without the slightest remorse (Pol Pot, Hitler, Stalin).

Imagine one of them as a vampire.

Or worse, the Osmands.

yeah that's the failing to me of Joss' premise. Not everyone with a soul is good.

Great now my day will be fiiled with thoughts of Donny the Vampire

I think it was every one with a soul has a choice. But then he contradicted it by making Spike 'love' without a soul (although that really depends on your defnition of love).

Donny the Vampire? My mission is accomplished.

yeah, and as much as I found Spike's growth in regards to Dawn (much more so than Buffy) far more interesting than him getting a soul as many have po inted out, Spike couldn't be 'redeemed' without it. And all we ended up with was an uninteresting Angel rip off that stole everyone's thunder

Oh (comma) dear. I'm going to read threesome stuff, aren't I? What are you proposing, Connor/Faith/Dawn? Faith/Wes/Spike?

Date: 2005-04-09 03:03 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
well, I suspect Maren will assign me Connor + 2 lovely ladies (or who knows that Phantom Dennis/Doyle/COrdy one)

Here were my requests

First Choice Threesome: Connor/Faith/Illyria
3 Special Requests (Include things you do and do not want): Connor/Faith's relationship is more a post-slaying horny friends with benefits affair, Illyria maintaining a cool curiosity about the whole thing, a leather flogger

Second Choice Threesome: Angelus/Darla/Dru
3 Special Requests (Include things you do and do not want):: mention of corsets, one of the late 1800's electric plug into the wall vibrators (who you use it on is up to you), fang play

Third Choice Threesome (Optional): Connor/Faith/Dawn
3 Special Requests (Include things you do and do not want):: future where Connor/Dawn have a serious relationship, Faith is there for when Connor needs to let go with his strength
