Happy Valentine's Day

I hope it's going better than mine. Let me see, how did the day go? Started out well, got some sleep, had a slow morning, got the laundry done without issue. In fact it was like 40 when I left. I even worked on Blood Red Roulette.

However, sitting in the library doing that I noticed that the wind had REALLY picked up so I decided to stop writing and go grocery shopping while the clothes are in the dryer. Wise choice because then the snow started. AND it dropped 15 degrees sparking up fog. Sweet. Wind, snow fog.

Once I got home it seemed like it would be a good day in. Then the power went out (luckily not for long...yet). I even made this drink, Chocolate & whiskey liqueur. It is divine! I misread it though and got Bailey's Irish Cream whiskey.

In fact it was good until I sat down to dinner. My scampi turned out to be a box of clam strips which was fine too until on the first bite I broke a molar (it's been broken before) and SWALLOWED it. Now there's nothing but nasty metal filling cutting my tongue.

To add insult to injury the crab legs I got at Kroger's had a barnacle on the claw and I didn't see it until I had eaten almost everything. (it's not harmful just creepy).

So to sum up my holiday, I'm alone. My flowers froze. My power went out. My tooth broke and I had barnacles on my crabs.

sigh.

Although the expression "barnacles on my crabs" is one I'll have to remember. I'm sure it will be useful at some point.

All that happened to me was I drove to Glendale (a long way) for a blood draw, only to find out that the lab closed really early today. Then I stopped for something to eat on the way home, had some gastrointestinal distress, got home, had further distress plus aching hip and knees, slept for ages. No molars broken, unless something happens when eating my rocky road ice cream later.
