cornerofmadness: shirtless spock (shirtless spock)

I swear it was just 9 AM a few minutes ago. Mostly I washed clothes, wasted money at Big Lots 20% off everything sale (thanks for enabling my hoarding of staples). I bought out the typhoo and the Italian import cookies. I'm sad. I want cookies.

I AM sad. Mom is sad. John took her to the casino. Dad went which tells you how bored he is. He hates casinos. They went to Mountaineer in WV and it's all changed. They took out most of the 1930s gangster stuff. Aw. All three won.

Me, I'm here alone as always. I graded some. I'm going to try to get a story sent in to a new publisher.

I'm also sad about writing conventions and my inability to go.

I do love history and I found these links fascinating. The girl with the tattooed face I had never heard Olive's story before.

and old school photoshopping. Photo manipulations from the 1800s to the 1950s. i love the vision from 1907.

And since you know I'm still working through things and a ton of Nimoy related stuff is around be expecting some of it like this Letter to a biracial girl. That was the one thing I loved so much about Star Trek it tried hard to have race and gender NOT matter. It wasn't perfect but my god, it was the 60s and those things nearly canceled it from the get go. I love that Nimoy felt moved enough to write her (also ELD will want the shirt in the ad) BTW I was one year old when this happened.

The origins of the Vulcan greeting : Nimoy was the one who created it and in this little bit of documentary, he talks about it. He thinks it's a wide spread story but a lot of people I know don't know it. It's also an interesting look at the Jewish ceremony he adapted it from (I enjoy learning about religions which isn't always easy to do without arguments etc).

And if you don't know the song I referenced in my story last night (which is getting all kinds of comments) here's the Ballad of Bilbo Baggins...i still maintain there were a lot of drugs involved in this...

And of course this one with Bruno (which sadly ends with Leonard doing the very thing that ended up killing him).

(the little boy is probably what my Temple looked like at that age).

Those are fun links to the past stuff.

I understand your sorrow.

Yes, I would've wanted that shirt. I saw the article yesterday and thought, "Hey, what a fun shirt. I wonder how long it'll take for any of my friends to see it and comment on it."

Obviously not.

Are you still doing that medication thing? Do you have a link to it? One of my other online friends wants to start, and I thought you might be able to give me a link to give to her.

I love the links! we used to "photoshop before photoshop" back in college. We would carefully expose the same negative, adding something or simply do it in the darkroom with the enlarger. It was a lot of fun. So many things can be done with a negative and enlarger. We would sometimes boil and scratch negatives for effect or lay objects on the paper while printing (esp after studying Man Ray). Those were fun times.

And I saw that letter from Nimoy too - love! What a wonderful human. We are so lucky to have so much of him left behind.

I absolutely love that Bruno mars video. It's now saved to my favorites bar for emergency viewing. It makes me inexplicably warm and happy :)

He will always be with us.

My friends were into doing that back in college. I never got a chance to play with it.

Yes we are lucky and yes, he will
