So I was going to do a writerly ways
Apr. 28th, 2015 11:36 pmBut another day of making exams has eaten my brain.
And something is eating my GI tract. My bet is on I swallowed battery acid in my sleep. What I do know is several prilosecs and tums hasn't made a dent in this mess.
Though on the writer side of things there were some bumps in the road today. To take my mind of things and having noticed the comment on the print out I was editing that said 'hey idiot describe Arrigo's apartment,' I decided to Google the Vdara. Hmmm I thought I had done this before but let me just say no, apparently whatever I was looking at was NOT the Vdara.
As it turns out almost everything in it is studio/tiny-assed one bedrooms for half a million. That just won't work. Oh I could make Arri live in beige HOA regulated hell but the one bedroom part just won't do.
I Googled some more and decided Veer Towers works. It's still in City Center and there are 2-3 bedroom options and hey, Arri IS a millionaire or some nonsense so he can buy it. Snag. Veer's website will ONLY let you look at floorplans if you sign in with them. I felt that to be dishonest because let's be honest, Arrigo is rich I am not and even if I hit the powerball this week I'm not moving to Vegas.
So I hit up Zillow and found three apartments. Snagged tons of photos from three of them. It's an interesting, useable space but man it is the epitome of 'open concept' which I hate the hell out of. My friend ES did question the wisdom of having both bedrooms open to the freaking bathroom because that's what I want so see the other occupants peeing or have shower humidity running everywhere. Wonders if you can ask for walls. Arri probably built them out of book cases. Luc is probably running around freaking out.
I DID get invited to an artist salon in Gallipolis in a tattoo parlor by a friend of mine. It's graduation evening. I think if I'm not too drunk, I'll go. My friends might enjoy it too. Bring your own instrument/poem/art/story. I might do a reading. I can just see it now a posse of half crocked professors (all of us who do some sort of arty thing) showing up. I was also invited to a Beltane ritual by another friend but Gallipolis is 10 miles from School where I'll be all day and Athens is 50 so....yeah. Damn. I would have loved to have gone.
All right back to making that final for tomorrow and praying my stomach doesn't eat itself (or puts me in the hospital so I don't have to go to the meeting on thursday, really at this point I'm fine with either so long as it means they're finally going to treat this stomach and to hell with my insurance).

Date: 2015-04-29 11:04 am (UTC)whee for invitations. That's pretty cool for the artist salon and the Beltane ceremony! It'd be difficult to decide which to go to, yes, but also the travel distance...
Good luck with your stomach. Bleerrgh.

Date: 2015-04-29 02:19 pm (UTC)I'd probably go to Beltane because there will be other salons and I never get to go to rituals but with me being at graduation ALL day in the sun (or rain which last time it rained and I thought they would let us go but didn't)
this stomach ...let's just say I'm going to my cousin's doctor this summer if i can and maybe have it operated on next summer.

Date: 2015-04-29 09:59 pm (UTC)My Dad was stationed at that AFB.
He lives in Veer Towers now. Right in city center near the Aria from what I can tell. I need to grab that addy and google earth it soon as I'm done with exam crap.

Date: 2015-04-29 11:26 pm (UTC)Yeah? That's a nice base! I've been to several airshows there. :D

Date: 2015-04-30 01:12 am (UTC)Me too! I'm looking forward to going back. I'm not a 'go back to the same place time and again' sort but Vegas is an exception

Date: 2015-04-30 03:36 am (UTC)I'd be interested to see how it changed. Heck my aunt passed away this month 11 years ago already and it's been 10 years since I've been in Orlando. WOw time flies once you hit middle age

Wow! Maybe being an adult is what makes it feel like it's ,moving fast, cuz of all the responsibilities one has.

Date: 2015-04-30 01:20 am (UTC)I always figured I got lucky when I somehow was sent the DVD "please buy a condo here" package from Turnberry Towers -- they gave me a complete floor plan and pictures of the condos, so I knew what Sean Patrick was going to buy YEARS before I got to that point in the story.
Yes, they are close to the Aria -- and the Mandarin, Crystals Mall, Vdara, and the Cosmopolitan (which is very cool), tucked right between Bellagio and Monte Carlo. We've walked all over that area, but never been in the Veer Towers yet.

Date: 2015-04-30 01:47 am (UTC)I've never been to the Crystal Mall but I know where it is. Bellagio and Monte Carlo yes. I will say that if the info on Zillow is correct it is NOT a casino. It's merely a residence.
