cornerofmadnessSo I went to the podiatrist today. He took x-rays. Spurs of bone all over the damn place but I knew that. It's been like that for years. His diagnosis is same as mine. Achilles tendonitis. I'm already doing everything but the steroids so he injected those (I can't take oral steroids because of my diabetes. Even the injection raised my sugar 100 points!). It's still numb. Who wants to bet this wears off in the middle of the night?
I didn't accomplish much else today and maybe it's because I have a 100 degree temperature according to the nurse. That would explain a lot. I will say it was HARD for me to see another podiatrist and he was pretty damn terrified by what happened to me. He thought at first I wiped out of school. I'm like No dude, I was practicing and was injured. He never thought that could happen like that (to be fair neither had I). By the time I got to the front desk they had heard about me and turns out one of the women was a former workman's comp agent and said she was pretty appalled by how LITTLE med school prepares us to protect ourselves and was pretty horrified by how I was treated in Wisconsin. She said it should have been a class action suit against the state. I agreed but no lawyer would touch it and I tried for FIVE years. Sigh.

And now for a little music monday. I have Parov Stelar. I stumbled across this composer last year trying to find writing music for Soldiers of the Sun and I was looking at 30s music. This stuff kept coming up. It's technically not 30s music but something born out of that style of music 'electro-swing.' I will say some of it does unfortunately sound a lot a like especially in the opening frames. However it is pretty cool stuff. I also got to see a couple dancers (beyond those who used the likes of Fred Astaire footage), namely Take Some Crime who combines things like the Charleston with some martial art moves (more in later and more modern music). I've enjoyed watching his videos too.

Take Some Crime has a lot of nice videos. I've shared this one before. He looks like Zolf Kimbley in this.
One of his newer videos where he's gotten much better at filming it.
And an 'official' video by Parov Stelar and new this year (who knows if it is official. I've seen people slap that on a lot of things that aren't official.
