No writerly ways
May. 31st, 2015 10:39 pmBecause I spent the day that wasn't spent seeing aunts and uncles doing the cover reveal for the newest anthology I'm in, Of Heaven and Hell. I'm not entirely sure yet what I can and can not share because they want us to do a push on the day of release, June 12th. I DO have a book trailer for this (how cool is that) that I could probably give to anyone interested. I could also hand out a couple of ARCs to anyone who wants to read it (I have it in pdf, mobi and one other eformat that's left my tired tired brain). If anyone wants to read and review, let me know.
It's STILL raining by the way. I'm going to grow gills or figure out a spell to divert some of this to California.
Hey, Southwest folks, have any of you ever had mesquite bean jelly (or anything)? At Mission San Jose, the guide mentioned the Natives ate those and ground them for a tortilla like thing. I found a jar of that at the buckhorn and thought about buying it. If it hadn't been 10$ for a little thing of jelly I would have. What's it like? Anyone know?
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY
dzioo I hope it was a great one.
And here's a few pictures to kick it off.
The Menger Hotel's original (sort of, it was only two stories in 1859) side. I was sadly NOT in this side.
This is not the Victorian entry but it was the one I used since it was on the newer side of the hotel.
This is me on the second story of the Victorian Lobby looking down
In the Menger Bar. I took this soon after feeling cold fingers playing with my hair. Note my back is to the wall....

These princess carriages were everywhere.
You know what this is
The long barracks
Me at the long barracks
And the next are the four sides of the centaph, the empty 'grave' of the Alamo heroes.

Date: 2015-06-01 03:00 am (UTC)I have never tried mesquite bean jelly. Don't know if I've even seen it around here - may be something more uniquely Texan (or I just haven't been paying attention).
We have a mesquite tree out front...

Date: 2015-06-01 03:05 am (UTC)It might be uniquely Texan, I don't know. I didn't realize mesquite looked so closely related to honey locuses. I'll have to see if they actually ARE related.
I would be curious to know what it is like.

Date: 2015-06-01 10:29 am (UTC)It sounds pretty gross (then again, I do not have an adventurous palate)
and I love the pics
was that flag at half mast for the flood victims of the blanco river? or for some other reason? (if you know)

Date: 2015-06-01 02:15 pm (UTC)thanks
I don't know. I wondered that myself or if it's just always half mast for the Alamo victims. I didn't find out
I just looked it up
Date: 2015-06-02 09:46 am (UTC)and wish me luck - today is THE DAY.
