I hate shoe shopping
Jun. 11th, 2015 10:49 pmI went out shopping today. Famous Footwear had a huge wall of women's athletic shoes.ALL wide. WTF? I have a narrow foot. I can handle a medium but there is no way I can wear a wide. That sucked. I got nothing. I did get something in gold glass for mom for her 50th wedding anniversary tomorrow. I got a harness for Kanda. Also went for spicy salmon and tuna & avocado rolls for lunch.
Speaking of Kanda, I made an appt for him because that dry skin was getting worse and he was pulling out his fur. Glad I did because when I went to get him for it today,I saw the whole base of his tail is BARE. This vet was very nice, listened well and was as unimpressed as I was with my vet blowing it off as not enough oil in his diet. She sees no skin disease or fleas but she gave me meds for sebborhic lesions and an anti-itch one. She thinks it's either allergies or he needs prozac.I thought Dad was going to die laughing. Kanda is not going to be a happy camper when I have to put those meds on him.
I'm really sorry to see Christopher Lee passed. Damn, this year just keeps sucking hard.
I had a strange dream last night. It was a lot longer but the part I remember went like this. I had to get to Chillicothe OH for some sort of big deal writing thing (author con? publishing meet up?). I was running late and so I head up I-35 in my electric wheelchair. Yep, that's right, a wheelchair. Something was wrong with my left leg, like a broken ankle. I don't get in a car to make this 45 mile trip. No, I go out on the highway in a magical wheelchair that can go 65-70 mph for 45 miles. I was worried that I had no helmet and I did pass a cop car but he didn't stop me.
I get to Chillicothe and I'm hungry so I stop at this place but it serves only gourmet pet food. Even knowing that the chips were shrimp chips for cats, I still try to eat one and spit it out in the parking lot. I finally get where I'm going in my wheelchair and I have forgotten the paperwork I needed for this thing. I was distraught because I didn't have time to go back and get it and I had gone all that way in pain for nothing.
San Fernando Cathedral, one of the biggest and oldest in the country. It's an active church VERY active so all my photos are off center because unlike some of the other tourists I was trying not to just jump in front of the praying people (it was a friday morning and I suspect these people were used to it...)
In theory some of the remains of the Alamo's fallen heroes are in this. Supposedly disinterred and reinterred but I had heard they'd been burned not buried so who knows.
Gold leaf altar. SO MUCH gold.
A gold virgin of Guadalupe
A Saint Candeleria, patron saint of the Canary Islands. Utterly new to me and yes she is African.
A version of the pieta where you can see where the worshippers' hands have worn it away.
The Assumption of Mary (in gold naturally)
From the Riverwalk, a heron (I think) of some sort. I.D. this bird

Date: 2015-06-12 02:54 am (UTC)...though it might do Vinnie some good, too. Hnmmm.
That's a remarkably weird dream, from someone who has weird dreams. Though it does feel like a stress dream from here.
Yay, photos. Poor Jesus, all rubbed up by people.

it definitely feels like my brain thinks I'm sabatoging my writing career.

Date: 2015-06-12 09:59 pm (UTC)Vinnie could use a lot of things, but he was better than Rogue at the vet this a.m. Of course, the tech missed her vein the first time and moved the needle around inside her leg, and she squealed and jerked.
That's kinda...yeah.
I saw a scary cartoon Jesus earlier today, I thought about sending you his image. It was an advertisement for some sort of "Jesus Loves YOU" video. I thought he looked kind of more like he wanted to beat me, from the expression on his cartoon face.
