So today I went to Lilyfest and we had really good weather for it, not too hot (about 82) and no rain. Of course there had been plenty of it so it was muddy as heck. I'm pretty sure I set my GPS to 'take the most convoluted way there.' 61 miles, about 40 I've never seen before but the Hocking HIlls ARE beautiful.
My wallet is a bit sad. I didn't overdo it but it was close. IN fact I underdid the lilies. I only got two night embers and night of passion. There were two others that were nice and dark but sold out. I should have bought more at only 6$ but I wasn't sure where to put them (turns out Dad thought I'd get him one even if I said I wouldn't). I also got a ceramic dish made my h.s. kids for 10$ which went to the local food pantry to feed the homeless/hungry. I bought a little bromeliad in a glass sphere and I got a little ceramic serving plate.
I also ate a strawberry filled gourmet cupcake that was super pricey (but not as much as the candy I passed on) and I went into the butterfly enclosure that had one butterfly. WHo landed on me and WOULD NOT leave me alone. It took forever to convince her to go elsewhere.
It was interesting getting to the Bishop Educational gardens because Little Cola Rd is in theory 2-way but barely big enough for one car and there is NO WHERE to move. Going up, if you move over you're going in a ditch a little car isn't coming out of, going down either it's into the guardrail or over the hill. And people live out there. They live all over the Hocking Hills. I'm in part jealous because the energy there is the best anywhere around here and it's so pretty. The rest of me goes how the hell do you get out of there in winter?
I stopped back in Jackson on the way home and used Big Lots 20% off sale to get some garden stuff and a few things for lunch. Then I went to Rowdy's for dinner but I think the lack of good hydration and/or sugar issues played up on me (as it was I had to go in the god awful porta-potty twice. I wasn't about to drink more) Getting back in the car with my dinner, I somehow hit my head. I don't even really remember getting into the car. I hit so hard I knocked off my glasses and hat. There's a huge lump on my head. My neck is spasmed up as is my jaw and I'm wondering, 6 hours later with a massive headache if I gave myself a mild concussion.
Memorial Garden. I heard people saying a woman made these in honor of her husband. Hee
I wish I knew what this said.
The pottery sculptures are famous here. Wish I could have afford it (and now I regret not getting the rock lamp and the Inukshuk)

The radical self love meme - Well day 10 was supposed to be tarot cards I did a little reading for the upcoming novel release. Sorry it looks so bad. Without a flash it was too dark with it it reflected then the battery died.
And I was supposed to do a lip synch video for today. Um no. One trying to do it as a selfie will involve too much up the nose shots. My video function sort of sucks and yes dead battery. So pretend I'm lip synching to this because this song sums up me (and a lot of my friends)
I found out today that the story for my m/m romance love's landscape prompt wasn't written. I have no idea why the author dropped out this late in the game (we've been posting for 6 weeks now). I'm not sure if something bad happened (or something good) and there was no time but since the person who was supposed to be writing it has no books to her name. I'm kinda betting she is a fan ficcer who didn't like the editing process (because these were due in for editing weeks ago). However, it was picked up by a young man tonight who does nothing but my favorite genres (fantasy/SF) and his self pubbed novels all have good ratings. So this might be good after all, if not rushed. Sigh. I have NO luck when it comes to fic exchanges. I'll let you know if it gets done.

Date: 2015-07-12 09:41 pm (UTC)I think the daisy thing is an Indian Blanket. Mom has something similar, if not the same thing.
The butterfly was tasting you to get your salts and then will come and attack later.
