my internet is out again

The storm at least allowed the temp to drop a little and I cut down all the damn trees growing in my garden in spite of my best efforts earlier this year. I also cut myself in the process. Fun. Nothing like a little blood to water the plants.
I got the rough draft of the novel cover. It's fun. Can't wait to see the final product.
There are good historical shows on TV right now. Spike Tv's Tut was NOT one of them. It was laughably bad. My god! Ben Kingsley what are you doing in this mess? First off Tut is gorgeous. Like wow. Abs, eyes, beautiful skin. But it's like all the writers knew was Tut was the boy-king and he married his sister. What we got was an older teen (probably in his mid twenties really) who is secretly practicing swordsmanship with the guy who wants Tut's sister. And a lot of sex scenes. LOTS of those. Somewhere we missed Tut was quite young. He had a freaking club foot and most likely walked with a cane. he had gynecomastia (i.e. little breasts and hips) and probably was epileptic. He wasn't capable of riding a charoit let alone fighting and leading men into battle himself. It's a three parter but yeah I'm done. I don't need it to be 100% accurate but it needs to be closer than this hot mess. That said I hope Tut's actor has a good career. He has talent and he's attractive and I hope it's not all him playing Muslim terrorists.

I was going to watch Tut. Now I'm glad I missed it. I agree the guy playing him is gorgeous!! :D Which, I'll admit, is why I was going to watch it. XD

Date: 2015-07-21 10:59 pm (UTC)I thought they'd determined from some recent studies that much of the damage to Tut's skeleton/mummy were actually caused later, by poor mummification and/or restoration attempts, and he wasn't really in as bad health as they initially thought (but the missing ribs and damaged chest may imply he was killed in a chariot accident, not by murder).
