The Good Stuff
Jul. 23rd, 2015 11:38 pmFirst off people are loving Paul Richmond's cover for my short story Snowbound. I'm so grateful for the retweets and shares it's getting. If you missed seeing the cover check it out here
Know the one thing I like about teaching in the summer? My class is in the afternoon. I get to wake up every morning naturally with no blaring alarm.
Kanda has stopped biting me. I think it was the storms upsetting him but he IS back to tearing out his fur. Neurotic thing.
The domestic violence, asshole parking, borrowing my shit without asking dickwads who share my wall are moving. HUZZAH!!
As for the bad, I think my landlord in his attempts to put in french drains for this place (after a decade) cut my land line. Yes I still have one. I really need it. I live alone and rural. Power goes out here a lot. I'm a diabetic. So I can't really be without a phone at the same time I'm cobbling dinners together out of bread and peanut butter because there's no power to cook.
The Worse: It doesn't seem to be bad pills that are bothering my stomach. I'm half way through a new set and today I was in so much pain I couldn't even sit up. Yes I am going to make a doctor's appointment with a specialist but it's taking time because the local ones for this suck. I've doubled up on prilosec and still need about 4 rolaids to even make it through a day.
And now for the Self Love July. Time to catch up again.

Day 16 My Moon Ritual -
I don't really have one. I should. Mostly I go out and look at her. Sometimes I take my moonstones with me. Closest to a ritual in my family was Aunt Loretta making us take our empty purses out on New Year's Eve at midnight so we would have a full purse for the year. I'm not sure it worked. She did that sometimes on a full moon. I remember doing it at the condo in Ocean City.
Day 19 Street Art -
I had wanted to share the Welsh dragon here but couldn't find the picture or remember to take a new one so here's some from Victoria on Vancouver Island. I really did love that place.
Day 20 - My hero. I don't really do the hero thing much. There are people I admire I suppose. I lost one this year, Mr. Spock. I admire others, like Tesla, Elizabeth Blackwell, Gene Roddenberry but it's hard to say 'hero' when I'm not really one who looks outside of herself for inspiration much. Mom should make the list or at least get a medal for putting up with our family because there's usually one of us acting like an idiot (we take turns).
Day 21- a Make up free selfie
Here you go, no make up, hair a mess on the 4th of July on my uncle's boat.
Day 22 - Share my vision board. Since I had to look it up to be sure that meant what I thought it did, it's a fair bet I don't have anything to share here. I don't put up bulletin boards of inspirational things to inspire me or a wish list of where I want to be. I don't know what that means for me.
Day 23 - Things I
heart emoticon
In Books/Movies/TV the answer is easy, mysteries, Science fiction, fantasy/urban fantasy. I loved Star Wars, Star Trek, X-Files and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (season 2 is rerunning on ABC family which is my favorite season). I love gardening and being in the woods/at a lake. I love history and historical travel. I love comic books and geek life. I occasionally love cats (you know when they're not being furry jerks). I love learning about new cultures. I love writing and creating my own worlds. I love anime and to that end I'm going to park this link right here (and do go to the bottom for the link to ALL the new releases. These don't impress me much but there are some there I'd like to see, like God Eater
(also this catches me up on the meme)

Geeze to the pills or whatever's making your stomach act up this time. Maybe just your stomach being a pain.

YAY! to getting caught up on your meme. I really like the street art! Yay! for being brave enough to post a pic without make-up. I don't look like me without it. XD

Date: 2015-07-24 08:43 pm (UTC)The street art was amazing. Honestly if I were rich I could see me living in Victoria (as it was lovely but Boston/NYC level expensive).
It's easy for me since I don't like how I look in pictures either way.
