Happy Earth Day
Apr. 22nd, 2005 03:20 pmIt's snowing. It was so windy I couldn't open the car door. Whee-ha. Am I too old to want my mommy? On the way in, someon kicked up stones and busted my windshield
Let's see Orthopedic Surgeon - Good news - it's not broken and no tendons or ligaments are torn. Bad news - There's inflammation of all the soft tissue AND enormous swelling in the sinus tarsi (a space between the bones). He doesn't even want me in therapy moving it around at this point. He wanted to cast it. I said, not possible, I need to drive. We compromised. I'm in a cam walker which is pretty much a removable cast.
The Lawyer - Good News - there is none. Bad News - I have to pay those attorny fees and the way I understand it is I can't really contest the judgement because I DO owe the money and it's not in my best interest to go to court over it. He said then after the judgement they'll try to collect and realize that I'm non-collectible. Does any one know is THAT when I get to tell my side of the story? I mean at first the lawyer said something about settling for X number of cents on the dollar after they take my assets (I have none) and attach my real estate (I have none, go for it guys).
Is it too late for a new life?
