It's good to have author friends
Sep. 17th, 2015 11:38 pmBecause when you get together with them you no longer feel like maybe you're weird (or at least alone in your weirdness) but more on that later.
Today started bad. I had to miss the family reunion (which was okay it was meant only for the retirees) but that wasn't the bad thing. My stomach rebelled and I wasn't even into my office before it sent up a wave of acid and Glucerna (think of it as a diabetic slimfast) right into my lungs. I couldn't even go to the Founders' Day festivities because I was coughing so hard. My vocal cords are scorched and I have a whiskey voice right now. And my left lung especially is still heavy and hurty and itchy. Getting burnt by acid will do that. Gums are all blistered too.
So since this is a great way to get ulcerations, pneumonia and ultimately cancer, I call Ohio Gastro. STILL no referral. I call back to my own Doc. Well she hasn't done it yet. SHould I stick your request on her desk? No, jam it up your ass sideways. WHAT do you think, twit? If I have to go to urgent care over this I'm going to be pissed and I don't want to go this weekend because I have the steampunk train ride and I want to go to the sternwheeler fest and the mothman fest. If I have to spend the weekend in the hospital because I've gotten aspirate pneumonia while waiting for you to dick around, receptionist, I will be pissed.
But the day got better from there. I DO love my Pathophysiology class. It's traditionally made up of nurses who are already out in the field so they have brains. They know what's at stake. They study. And the rest are my premed students. They did so well on test. Huzzah. Monday with my other two classes will probably be a different story.
I went to Athens and had pad prik khing at the newish Thai Paradise. It was good. A tad on the pricey side, not tremendously so but the appetizers really were. I was happy with my spicy ginger sauce.
We had a new person show up to the group and I hope she stays. She fits in well with us. It was good to see everyone. Haven't seen one since May. We had to leave the Donkey though as it was having a special show. We ended up at another coffee house/sandwich shop around the corner, brenan's. I liked the coffee and 6.95 for a sandwich isn't bad. We might go there more often.
Also I took the test time to get Simmer moving forward.
Also various people stopped me today, took my hennaed hand and told me how pretty it was, including at least two men (one student) I didn't know.
ETA and the good day took a sharp turn into a brick wall as I was cleaning Kanda's box. He had litter everywhere and it was too late to run the electric sweeper so I moved the closet door to get the broom and saw my entire kitchen door webbed with saw dust. I'm like oh fucking hell. Termites. Or something.
looks like little brown ants so I'm going with termites
notice the unrepaired damage from previous flooding.
So I freak the fuck out. That's when I notice the spider that had been hanging over my head the whole time I was cleaning the litter. HUGE spider. Spider dies. I frantically clean up the sawdust pile then hit the door with so much bug killer I'm shocked Kanda and I arent' dead. Bugs BOIL out of the door. I'll talk to the landlord tomorrow.
BUT I have two very real very irrational fears. I fear infestations by bugs of my body. I fear being poisoned. Seeing as I've taken two more showers since finding them at midnight (and I still 'feel' them crawling on me even though I know they're not) and that I can taste the bug spray, I'm sure sleep ain't happening. sigh.

Date: 2015-09-19 12:48 am (UTC)When you move, you might want to put everything in storage and bomb it hard before moving it into your new place. Just make sure you don't take anything with you, you know? Geeze.
