It was a beautiful day out
Nov. 3rd, 2015 11:43 pm75 degrees, not a cloud in the sky.
I spent most of it inside. I had to go for my mammogram today. Did you know if you have big boobs they have to squash them twice to get top and bottom. That's fun. If the lumps were anything scary they didn't say so on the spot. I'll know more tomorrow (I'm not actually worried. I have fibrocystic breast disease and I always have a lump or two).
I've been dizzy, hot and crabby for the last few days but I was blaming my sugar (and Halloween candy). Last night behind my right ear was hurting but I thought eh maybe a pimple. By 1 AM there was a little swelling behind the ear and the mastoid was super tender. By 4 AM it woke me up. I was really dizzy and the whole side of my face and neck swelled up. I have a middle AND inner ear infection that isn't really hurting until today and it hurts in the neck and jaw. I'm on antibiotics that don't do well against ear infections because I'm allergic to the ones that do. This should be fun.
Got good news at work. The allied health crew decided we could have all the stuff from the discontinued medical lab tech degree. Microscopes! Centrifuges! Incubators! I can growdeadly non-pathogenic things!
On the flip side, I spent all night looking at the two potential lab books for the new micro class. WOW are they different. Most A&P books are similar. One of these is more traditional. The other is way more cutting edge. I have a lot of decisions to make.
Also in good news.
scribesds sent me a really pretty little pick me up. THANK YOU. I love it and it made me very happy. I know I'm very lucky to have all you here on my flist as friends.
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to
bay115 I Hope it was a great day.
I'm not making much headway tonight (well I AM ill) but I'll BBL with word count and a snippet.

Nano Snippet
“Fair point.” A sudden urge to see Kaleo smile, just a little, hit him. Aneurin decided to change tack. “That's settled then. Would you like to swim for a bit?”
A wicked grin flashed across Kaleo's face. “You just want to see this great, half naked body wet.”
Aneurin chuckled. He should have expected that answer. At least Kaleo was smiling. “That's not why.”
“Right. I saw you checking out the goods.” Kaleo ghosted a finger over his chest.
“You're imagining things.” Aneurin tried not to grin.

Date: 2015-11-04 10:48 pm (UTC)Ah yes, mammograms – I’ve had a few of those, and yes, I do have large boobs too. Not comfortable at all, but a necessary practice.

Date: 2015-11-05 03:51 am (UTC)Yes I'm glad to have them. I've had to have them since my 20s and I was furious several years back when congress was trying to block them for anyone under 60

Date: 2015-11-05 10:52 pm (UTC)Here in the UK, women between 50 – 70 have an automatic recall for a routine checkup. Other women can still have them, but they need to ask for them or get a doctor’s referral. I’m surprised you can get an immediate diagnosis – we have to wait about ten days for our results.

Date: 2015-11-06 02:13 am (UTC)Yeah here too, they're supposed to get them at that age but not everyone does.
I can see my mammograms while they're being done. They go right up on the computer screens and the doc made the student hand me the lap top so I could read what the radiologist said (knowing I'm a doc)
