I hate our health care choices. I'm paying more and getting less but I knew that. What upset me was they've been screwing up my HSA for years. If this has tax ramifications I'm going to be furious.

Also the meeting went as horribly as expected but thank god for the nurses. The screwing the board of trustees was giving us had to be lightened because the national board that accredits the degree took one look at what the board was trying to do (i.e. make us teach huge classes, work overloads with no pay etc) and said we will NOT accredit you if this continues. Without that there is no nursing program. Without them this school closes.

But I got my grades in. I got my plants into the greenhouse. And then me and the two chemists went to the Wounded Goose for dinner. I'm so out of it I was repeated reminded it was NOT friday like I was convinced it was. My food wasn't as good this time but I need to be there on fridays. That's wild/weird game night. Sorry, unrepentant carnivore here.

A Saint Lucia’s celebration this is @ an hour long and even though it's in Norwegian, it's beautiful and oh so pretty. The candle crown is giving me ideas for my SF story I posted the open call for (I'm thinking one is a very sheltered religious figure) and if you go to 30 minutes in the operatic singer is pretty much exactly what I think the bear shifter in my Deadwood story looks like minus the goth make up (which is a shocker to me) and if he were just a tad more tall and muscular.

Meat is good.

I have no words for the state of education at all levels in this country.

Ugh. Well, at least that national board doesn't have its collective head up its collective ass. :P

What Wildrider said about education and adding in health care.

Sorry your day of the week is totally off. Like, totally.

Yeah that's the one saving grace and also the accreditation people charge to come out so if they failed them this year on that account it's like another 5 grand next year instead of in 8 years from now

I agree. Meat is good. My friend L, the vegetarian had things to say about our choice of place tonight and she was never planning to go as she had another commitment. I'm like WHY?

They want us dumb. Dumb people are easier to control. That's my thought

I had an answer for her and the other answer is our generation somehow turned our kids into over protected special snowflakes who feel offended and victimized by EVERYTHING and so many aren't even making it into school so there's no damn money....

it's definitely an off day. Tomorrow will be too

Yeah, it's going to be scary for us geezers in the next few years...

Ugh. That's not good.

I agree--thank god for the Nursing Association. If only the other accrediting agencies had the same kind of balls.

There isn't one for biology, can you believe it? Chemistry yes but biology is like nope, not for us

There's the regional one, that really has a lot of power. Ours is SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools)--I know there's a midwestern one but don't know the exact name. I was often very involved in our self-study for them (price of being an English teacher) and was very frustrated because it seemed that they'd all agreed that we'd just accept a more than 50% adjunct rate and no one would complain.

I had looked into it for Biology back when I first realized how little two profs did and wanted to give ammunition to getting rid of them but nope, there was no national group

oh geez that's bad. That's what they want here and the board won't accept that we live in themiddle of nowhere. Just where do they think qualified adjuncts are coming from
