My weekend has been one long editing fest, story and lectures (thanks weather). Today was hampered by weather induced migraines but I've gotten through everything evil_little_dog has given me plus a chapter of what I had done myself. Which doesn't sound like much but it was a lot of work. It's so long. So. Damn. Long. I wish I knew what to cut out.

Editing is a chore. A necessary one. Here's hoping it works out well. Here's more about my progress. progress in Vegas

today's topic is the writing community. I try to be as active as I can because you never know when/where you can help them and they can help you. Some days it's hard and frustrating and feels like high school. For example, I do what I can for promotion of my fellows on FB and my blog and rarely see much in the way of returns on that. I'm literaly the Invisible Woman (except for the one big name author who DID thank me for all I do and that still makes me smile.)

Or on those rainbow snippets where there's like 30 people playing and you get 6 comments if you're lucky. I'm half tempted to keep track of those who don't bother to comment and return the favor but that seems like too much effort. So I'll just read them all and be nice. Because that IS who I am.

And some days it pays off. Like today, when my slow soggy brain got over angsting about Weird West and realized hey ES loves romances. Go ask her. It was very helpful. (Thanks!)

So I'll keep holding out my hand to help people even when there are so few people holding one back. Because there will be some hands. Like when I ask you all for help. I usually get some. And I appreciate it always.

I'm glad they're helpful. Yes ES sends me tons of them a week and I ususally share the ones most helpful to me.I don't think it serves us to be too insular
