Another weird day
Apr. 6th, 2016 11:24 pmToday, after getting more sleep, I feel exhausted and wiped, and now that the steroids cleared up some of the numb in my leg I'm now left with searing pain.
I'm getting closer to done with my weird west story so hurray for that.
And it was a little awkward today. We have this social group here. We do a lot of the artsy stuff together etc. One of the members is having a birthday. When it's something we can do for her, I'm always included but she excluded all of the science people from the group from her birthday party. I'm not upset about it (this is the same person who LEFT me behind at the Neil Gaiman thing) but I will remember it. It's getting very clear where I fit in her world. I'm there if I'm a benefit otherwise, not so much. I don't match her snobby senses. Want to bet the next time she needs something I'll be included? Want to bet someone else isn't included in my next party?
As
wildrider said to me music is getting its ass kicked in 2016. R.I.P. Merle Haggard.
and for Poetry month Song: Go and catch a falling star
GO and catch a falling star,
Get with child a mandrake root,
Tell me where all past years are,
Or who cleft the devil’s foot,
Teach me to hear mermaids singing,
Or to keep off envy’s stinging,
And find
What wind
Serves to advance an honest mind.
If thou be’st born to strange sights,
Things invisible to see,
Ride ten thousand days and nights,
Till age snow white hairs on thee,
Thou, when thou return’st, wilt tell me,
All strange wonders that befell thee,
And swear,
No where
Lives a woman true and fair.
If thou find’st one, let me know;
Such a pilgrimage were sweet.
Yet do not, I would not go,
Though at next door we might meet.
Though she were true when you met her,
And last till you write your letter,
Yet she
Will be
False, ere I come, to two or three.
