I didn't come up with much of a writerly ways. I have an idea but it still feels like ripping off scabs and this week has been too hard for that.

It was a weird weird day. I was wearing my brand new Calvin Klein shorts. Mom and I had gone to Sally's and TJ Maxx and we were getting back in the car (with a new cat bed in tow) I sat down and we both heard a RIPPPP noise. My shorts split from waist band to hem as if someone had run a knife up them. Mom had to go back into the store and buy me something to wear if we wanted to continue the shopping trip which we did since we had 50% off coupons for Half Price book store.

Here I put some panties in there for contrast -


I got the illustrated Harry Potter book and the Descendants of Darkness anime using our coupons (as mom only wanted 2 cheap movies so I gave her my high price item to buy). Came home and spent more money like it was water to get another pair of shorts and a suit dress.

And there had to be something bad, right? Mom and I were in Sally's beauty supply (first stop) and we were in line. I was laughing at something (I can't even remember what) and Mom gives me the evil eye and says 'stop laughing. You irritate me.'

I have no idea. I hadn't said anything to her, wasn't teasing her or complaining or anything. I was just chuckling. I expect this shit from dad but...

So keep in mind that if I act defensive or lacking confidence don't tell me to suck it up and do something. Maybe understand a little why I have no self esteem.

To top it off, another old lady about mom's age was in front of us and saw the two hair clips I had which were amethyst and asks me' you putting them in your hair.' Yes. "Well that's okay but people who dye their hair entirely purple or blue are terrible people and goes on and on about how she'd never allow her child do that or drag them to the church and cut off all their hair. I'm like my church's pastor has opal/red hair. Even mom was like 'I can't be that way.'

People in my day didn't call attention to themselves. They knew how to act all the same.

Um lady, just turn around and pay for your shit and stop talking to me.
