Endless Pimping

Once my life gets less crazy I'll do a real update. For now, just let me pimp a bunch of stuff.

First, the Bodice Ripper Awards These are brand new and are for Giles and/or Ripper fiction. Oooo, I'm excited. Wish I would have had more of my Giles fic finished.

Then comes the latest glut of ficathons

1) The Dangerous women Ficathon -  This is your chance to write all those stories on all those bad bad women out there. I'm debating on doing this one. Sounds like fun, not sure I have the time.

2)  The Hometown Ficathon - You get to set the story in your hometown with the characters of your choice and if you want, request a story as well and you'll be paired off with someone. I'm all signed up.

3) The Back to High School Ficathon - It's for fic that's set during S1-3 of Buffy, a more innocent (Ha!) time. I'm so tempted since I've been writing fic set then lately.

4) Wesley Ficathon -  with a twist. First of all  it's limited to  the number of people who can sign up, basically only 14. And it's going to be a two parter ficathon.
Part One is Wesley by Canon... all requests and fics have to be based on canon (ie post-episode fics, etc) Part Two is Wesley by AU/AR... all requests & fics can be non-canon And yes I just had to sign up.

Sigh. I'm such an addict. My poor WIP's. They are singing dirges waiting on me.

Plenty of News

Here's the first little bit of it. I got my grades back. I am so not happy with them. You've already heard about the incomplete that I'm fuming over. I ended up with a 3.0. I hate being so damn average (especially since I had a 4.0 last semester).

This semester was such a bitch. I had all A's on my community college curriculum tests so either I bombed the final (highly doubtful, it was open book after all) or despite rewriting the paper three times I ended up still getting a lower grade than I'm accustomed too on it. It's also a good learning experience for when I'm teaching. I hate turning in a paper at the end of the semester. You never get it back and you have no idea how you did. So I ended up with a B in this class.

Now I thought I was doing really good in the bio lab prep class. It's an undergrad class after all. I'm just taking it because hell half these techniques didn't exist when I was an undergrad back in the 80's. I thought I did well (despite a little ugliness in one of my DNA gels. And I was best at the proteins). I turned in my lab reports a head of time and changed them according to professor feedback. I was confident I got the A. I got a B instead and I'm not sure why. Maybe they listened to me seriously when I graded myself and I graded myself HARD on the math parts. Sigh.

3.0, how pathetic of me. (and watch a half dozen people yell at me for considering that score bad. I have terribly high standards for myself).

Real Life Crap

Well, I have a lot to say but right now I’ll separate the lots into two updates. This one will be about the job interviews. Want to watch Dana go nuts? Fly to central Florida right now and get a ring side seat. Now, I’m thrilled about getting three job interviews. The one last week was great training for the two next week. And heck there’s two MORE jobs in Wisconsin I really want so cross your fingers for me as I send in my resume.
