Instead I'm puttering around here. First off, I finished a rough (very) draft of my lyrical challenge story. It's Buffy centric and I'm not sure if it works. I did it like little snapshot using the lyrics to span the year after Chosen . (I'm beginning to think I write Buffy better as part of an ensemble. I've been whipping my slaves...uh betas pretty hard lately so I figured to make this volunteer basis.

got some good input on that short story I did for the originalficathon which was due last month. Will try to use the input before I post it up.

And I fixed my computer problem. Thank you my friend system restore. It WAS the new version of YIM that screwed it up. Removing that cured the problem of having to go online by going around the horn and 'manually' dialing. instead of just hitting an icon. I should email Yahoo and say hey your beta version of YIM screwed my computer.

Well now maybe I'll slither into bed...except Connor is trying to tell me a far future story and if he doesn't shut up I'm going to cut off a body part of my choice and he won't like it

Original Fiction

You'll notice I don't post a lot of original fiction here. The reason is it used to conflict with publication if it was online for free at your website but I figure it's a very rough draft so....(almost locked this for that reason but then no one at the ficathon could read it except a select few) I cleaned this up for the orgficficathon  challenge and hey it was due a month ago but I totally forgot about it. The very first draft was set at Halloween but as much as my writer's group loved the story they felt a ghost story set then was hackneyed and I agreed. I've moved the setting but as I was reading it over, I felt something was wrong. Some of the people who've read it recently have ranged all over from disliking to really liking it. I've made some suggested changes but not all of them (so the choppiness and back story are still there until I have time to print this out and whack on it some more). Thoughts are welcome critical or praise, suggestions too (and if you're not comfortable with the public forum go in and root out my email from the user info). Oh and the title is tentative. The one thing I can not do much of is add to this. Sadly 5000 is usually the word cap to most horror magazines. To go abve it will remove me from abou 80% of the market.

just so you know

Because interesting things always happen when I'm packing to move, right now about three tornados are on the ground near me. Luckily they appear to be moving westwardly but if you don't hear from me later today and tomorrow, just assume they changed their mind. I think it'll be okay. It looks pretty normal out there if you discount the waving birch trees bent over....If I have to go into that spider infested basement...blech.

Ah well, back to making puttanesca sauce and packing. At least this makes it a little more interesting.
