Made it back

The drive back to OH was good. My brother made a disturbing comment calling my attention to something I was trying to ignore in spite of the pain. He caught me pulling on my fingers and said 'what did you do to your middle finger? It's got a swan's neck deformity.' Yeah it sure as hell does which means pretend all i want the arthritis has spread into my hands and they're beginning to gnarl. I think all the typing for Nano has really made it swell up and made it more noticable. Sigh.

I went to post up pictures of my apartment and the town only to find out that in spite of me editting them and putting them on my jump drive. Dad's graphics' program only sent over ONE picture, the last one scanned. Smack head.

And whoever decided I have to be there tomorrow early to do the Math/Science club needs smacked (I mean damn, the semester is over. Why not just wait until Jan now) And I just realized the seminar this weekend takes away my final writing time.

ARGH and a proposition

I finished nano, topped out at over 55,000 words and I can't submit it from here. This cheap ass new Dell can NOT save as txt. Rich text is as close as it comes. I'll have to take it to work and convert it there. Sheesh.

And now for the proposition. I know out of that 55K not all of it will be kept. Large portions yes but not all. AND last year I took my Nano novel and set it aside forgotten. I do not want to do that this year and I'm betting that you all don't either. I propose that we poke and prod each other until we get these novels actually done!

More over, I know a lot of us were interested in a novel trade. How about a first chapter trade? We all would have to look at the first chapters (let's be sane here, if you have a 50 page first chapter some of it will need shaved off for this) and give real constructive criticism. If you want to read more that'll be between you and whoever. This would have to be by email since publishing any of this online could complicate publication down the road. I'd like to throw this open to those on my flist (since I'm trusting most of us to be good and not flame) and to both original and fan fic. if you're interested let mw know.
