cornerofmadness: (King of the damned by Natgel)
Forever Fandom has some kind of messed up coding for some of my stories and you would know it, they're ones up for awards. So here's one of the two. It's my one and only Harmony pov set in AtS S5

This is the other story that is messed up on Forever fandom. sigh. I need to get back to finishing this some day. It's a father and son learn to live with each other journey centering (naturally) on Angel and Connor It's too big for one post so here's the first two chapters

LEANING ON THE EDGE OF E
By D.M. Evans
Disclaimer - Not mine, never have been, never will be. I’m just grateful to Mr. Whedon et al for the chance to play in his sandbox. All lyrics included belong to The Cure
Rating - R for violence
Timeline - Immediately after Not Fade Away.
Summary - Connor joins his father in the battle against the demon horde and they learn what it means to be father and son
Author’s Note #1 - This is written for Crazy Girl Mary’s cd challenge. http://www.geocities.com/crazy_girl_mary/mychallenges.htm. You need to use ALL the songs on one album. I chose The Cure’s disintegration album.
Author’s Note #2 - For this we’re going to pretend that Angel didn’t immediately go into the alley after he sent off Connor. We’re going with the theory there was a bit of a time gap.
Author’s Note #3 - Thanks to SJ and Kat for the various beta’s on this.

Ugh you know, this department needs me badly. I'm not the type to just sit around when things aren't working right. LIke now when another prof (who hasn't taught Zoo in years but does teach the accompanying botany course) points out that she isn't fond of the fact we're using a general biology book for this zoology class. Well, I agree. This is wrong. It's even more wrong that over half the labs are the same ones for gen. bio. I think once the course starts and before its taught again in the fall. This other prof and I need to get together, find a book that works for this class and for hers (zoology and invertebrates often have the same lab book) and have it ready for the new prof coming in this fall. As it stands now, this class is a shambles and I'm ashamed of it.

I spent all day looking at various lab books I own and this other prof owns (knowing what the prof who has been teaching this course has to offer which is nada) trying to make up a lab course from scratch. Spent a lot of time on line for the same reasons, trying to pull together enough hand outs to make this class stand out a little. Now to find out if i can borrow litmus paper from chem lab, find fossils, a pond and oh, a hiking trail near the school. I've done all i can class wise with a good gen bio book (but a lousy zoo book)

I wasted a perfectly lovely cool day doing all of this. I had to take a few writing breaks for my sanity's sake.

My uncle was buried today (he was 90 something, died of pancreatic cancer) I didn't get a chance to go to the funeral but it was strange. He was living in eastern OH on the WV/PA borders. for reasons known only to the surviving family, he was laid out in OH, buried in WV and the wake was held in PA. I'm not sure why that last one was necessary. Surely Wheeling had plenty of places to host a dinner.
