Wow, big changes
Oct. 9th, 2016 11:09 pmat the Renn fest. I knew it was under new management. There is now a giant food court on one side and a sit down restaurant on the other and a few new places tossed in. All we've ever had was the bread bowl place plus the two crappy places both selling turkey legs, steak on a stick and uber gross chicken tenders. If I had known that I would have eat there. Also there were so many vendors it was overwhelming.
I did stick to my usual vendors for the most part and didn't buy all that much though what I did buy was a bit on the mid-range to pricey side. I got a huge, beautiful glow in the dark paperweight for mom who loves glass. I picked up tiger eye earrings, two amber pendants and one blue agate one and got two of the tartan terror's CDS
I also got to listen to the Tartan Terrors in person and saw a fire/sword swallowing act before toddling home.
I took my cane with me because a) my hip was killing me b) I wanted to buy a cool cane and needed to know the right height. The canes were right at the gate and they understood height mattered but none screamed please make me YOUR cane. I'll try again at the Bob Evans Farm Fest next week.
There were only a few things that marred the day. 1. I lost an earring but thought well maybe it's in the wig (I took it off in the car) and I slipped the other one into my bag. Well there was one in the wig but now the one in the bag is gone. 2. I stopped at Popeyes for dinner. It was weird so I ate it while driving home, complete with dips. Didn't drip at all. Getting out of the car at home, I drop the box and hot sauce gets all over the center console, the seat and my dress. GAH. Two weekends in a row I've trashed my car with stuff that stains.
Have some pictures
Another one from yesterday
It would be a great picture if I didn't have such a damn double chin
Sunlight freaked out my camera in my phone (I loathe taking pictures with my phone. I can never see the screen outside)
castle time
See the henna didn't take AGAIN. I think it's time to be done with this. It's a colossal waste of money.
My goodies
bought these the other day...
and have some links to vendors who had great stuff
This is from Tsubasaon, a female centric graphic novel - The Hues.
The Queen’s Keypsakes I got the blue agate from her
The glass blower I got mom's paper weight from
jewelry I’ve been buying for years
brother artists love their stuff but didn't buy from them this year.
Damsel in this Dress I nearly bought a corset from them. They had my size and really the 100$ they wanted would be what it would cost me online. It was beautiful but not in the blue or purple I wanted. It was black/silver so it would have worked. BUT a) it was front lacing and frankly I thought wow it makes me look even FATTER b) she went to wait on someone else who had put something on hold and in just those ten minutes it bothered my stomach. I think I just can't add a corset to my steam punk (also...100$ IS a lot for something I'll wear a couple times a year)
Tomorrow I might be back with a writerly ways...maybe
( I forgot these!)

Date: 2016-10-10 02:48 pm (UTC)I have a walking stick I need to decorate. It's an old drying stick from a tobacco barn and it has a hole in it. I wanted to string ribbons and stuff through that hole.
Love your pictures. The sunburst one is my favorite.

Date: 2016-10-11 03:14 am (UTC)Damsel In This Dress was at Phoenix Comicon! I thought about getting one of their corset-vest thingies, but my big purchase ended up being a hat instead.
