So...I was in Wal-Mart on Thursday (leave me alone, it's literally the only store for 50 miles) and for some reason I walked through the DVD's (which I never do since I never buy them) and there they were.... a boxed set of the animated saturday morning cartoon of Dungeons and Dragons (oh how I loved thee) and even better for only 44$ the entire 4 disc collection (I had no idea there was THIS much) of the animated Star Trek....i should have bought at least one of them. I escaped tempation...but for how long

also GIP! - Ah Kimbley how do I love you, you little psychotic?

My aunt's mom died today. At 91 with alzheimer's it wasn't unexpected and viewed more as a blessing in many ways. She doesn't want me back for the funeral. Even my parents are still leaving for their vacation because she'd rather they do that. My grandmother, also 91, is taking care of their cat. She can't wait...i fear for the animal

somewhere around 2 pm I lost all my energy and feel blah. Might be a touch of food poisoning or flu. I know the corned beef turned. The first bite of my reuben was okay then it ws like OMG. Fed that to the outdoor cat. He slapped it out of my hand twice as I tried to feed him. Sheesh Roy.

Made French Onion soup from scratch. Cut up a half dozen onions, carmelized them slowly in my electric skillet (best thing in the world...) and then as I was ready to add the pinot grigio...i can't find my damn corkscrew. I cleaned up the kitchen and went into every drawer. GONE. Now that's the only place that stupid thing is. I don't mind having to buy a new one since that one was rusty and ratty but I didn't want to go to Jackson today. So sitting and watching Psych and figuring on letting the skillet cool and popping it all in the fridge I spy my screwdriver. Hmmm. Hammer and screwdriver (well cleaned) in hand I whack the screwdriver into the cork, pry it up enough for pliars and viola, an open bottle of wine (fyi Alice White's pinot grigio leaves a bit to be desired for the price). The soup is yummy, slightly too salty so I'll cut it with some more cider tomorrow (sugar masks salt...)
