Happy New Year's everyone.

I'm the year of the ram (and borrowing some links from [livejournal.com profile] o_mother_o)

1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003
People born in the Year of Ram are elegant and highly accomplished in the arts. They seem to be, at first glance, better off than those born in the zodiac's other years. But ram year people are often shy, pessimistic, and puzzled about life. They are usually deeply religious, yet timid by nature. Sometimes clumsy in speech, they are always passionate about what they do and what they believe in. Ram people never have to worry about having the best in life for their abilities make money for them, and they are able to enjoy the creature comforts that they like. Ram people are wise, gentle, and compassionate. They are compatible with Rabbits, Pigs, and Horses.

And because my birth year ends in a 7 that places me in the Fire element in Chinese alchemy. Fire is associated with the qualities of dynamism, strength and persistence, and with restlessness and a sense of adventure. The element fire plays an important role in Chinese Astrology and feng shui , the Chinese form of geomancy.

especially those of you in the teaching field. I'm starting my search for a new college. The problem comes in where I need at the least THREE letters of recommendation. Previous to this I had three doctor friends do it for me (and pretty much gave me free rein). Now that I've been teaching I think it would look curious that I didn't have at leat a couple other professors in there.

That's where the problem is. I don't want anyone HERE knowing I'm looking around for obvious reasons (Unlike before I'm not applying everywhere and anywhere, just to places I think i'd actually like to stay. I have experience now). I could ask my former boss and a coworker who left but my problem is, they aren't really the chatty keep in touch type. I know they'd do it...but do i ask them for five letters every week (well hopefully less but you never know)? It's a lot of busy work to inflict on someone

Argh why can't they just be happy with the name and phone number of my references and just CALL/Email them? I find letters of recommendation silly. Would I ask someone who didn't like me?

Any thoughts and suggestions? Thanks guys.

Connor - Post Series - Following in Father's Footsteps

He found it ironic that Spike tells him more than Angel ever would. Connor allowed that maybe Angel was humiliated by the things he did as Angelus but it’s a part of him that can’t be denied. Connor wanted to know everything. Somehow he knew he probably should feel a little guilty about using the Reilley money for this but he doesn’t. His eyes lifted to the top of the Great Wall thinking about the changes in his father’s life that happened in this country. The curse might have started in Europe but it was in China that Angel’s rebirth began.
