He found it ironic that Spike tells him more than Angel ever would. Connor allowed that maybe Angel was humiliated by the things he did as Angelus but it’s a part of him that can’t be denied. Connor wanted to know everything. Somehow he knew he probably should feel a little guilty about using the Reilley money for this but he doesn’t. His eyes lifted to the top of the Great Wall thinking about the changes in his father’s life that happened in this country. The curse might have started in Europe but it was in China that Angel’s rebirth began.

I write stuff like that all the time. At least, that's how I explain it away. ;)
