Gung Hei Fat Choi!
Feb. 18th, 2007 10:15 amHappy New Year's everyone.
I'm the year of the ram (and borrowing some links from
o_mother_o)
1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003
People born in the Year of Ram are elegant and highly accomplished in the arts. They seem to be, at first glance, better off than those born in the zodiac's other years. But ram year people are often shy, pessimistic, and puzzled about life. They are usually deeply religious, yet timid by nature. Sometimes clumsy in speech, they are always passionate about what they do and what they believe in. Ram people never have to worry about having the best in life for their abilities make money for them, and they are able to enjoy the creature comforts that they like. Ram people are wise, gentle, and compassionate. They are compatible with Rabbits, Pigs, and Horses.

And because my birth year ends in a 7 that places me in the Fire element in Chinese alchemy. Fire is associated with the qualities of dynamism, strength and persistence, and with restlessness and a sense of adventure. The element fire plays an important role in Chinese Astrology and feng shui , the Chinese form of geomancy.

Date: 2007-02-18 04:57 pm (UTC)Wood is one of the five elements of Chinese alchemy.
Wood represents springtime when new growth sprouts from the earth. Its associated direction is east. It is associated with the planet Jupiter. Wood is characterized by the color brown or green. Wood's attributes are considered to be strength and flexibility, as with bamboo. It is also associated with qualities of warmth, generosity, co-operation and idealism. The Wood person will be expansive, outgoing and socially conscious. The wood element is one that seeks always to grow and expand. Wood heralds the beginning of life, springtime and buds, sensuality and fecundity. Wood’s influence affects the liver, the gallbladder and, by extension, the digestion. Wood needs moisture to thrive. Its two opposite yet equally emotional forces are rage and altruism.
In Chinese medicine, wood is associated with feelings of anger or depression. Organs associated with this element are the liver (yin) and the gall bladder (yang).
In the regenerative cycle of the elements, Water engenders Wood. Wood begets Fire. Fire burns to Earth. Earth creates Metal and Metal gives way to Water.[citation needed]. The element wood plays an important role in Chinese Astrology and in feng shui, the Chinese form of geomancy.
I did up a chart from 1660 so I could do a horoscope for all of my characters, too. *g* Somewhere in my LJ I showed the writeup for Sean Patrick.

Date: 2007-02-20 08:34 am (UTC)Huh, I'm always restless. If not physically, mentally, often I can't get to sleep just cause my brain refuses to shut down.
