According to the weather channel we've been hotter than FLORIDA for days. It's been nealry triple digits and in Ohio, in June that's nearly unheard of. I hate this. You'll never hear me say 'i'm tired of Winter.' Summer yes, winter no.

I literally can't stand heat. It's physiology for me. Boating on Friday, I had to go lay under the canopy because the heat nearly made me puke. The heat-born dishydrotic eczema is back on my feet and fingers, which means as soon as it's hot, my skin goes into over drive and over produces skin which 'bubbles up' cracks and peels so the whole summer my hands hurt from this and I do NOT acclimate. Some of my southern friends told me in when i moved to Florida for a time that I would acclimate.

[livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog and [livejournal.com profile] silvrethorn will tell you how wrong they were.

I don't know what to do about my garden. I guess I'll be planting by moonlight and watering the living crap out of them. wish me luck

and oh [livejournal.com profile] sapphira_112 wanted people to take this quiz. Sounds about right to me.
what Major Arcana card am I )

and I was thinking about getting Hughesnet to get rid of this dial up but a) it's very expensive B) if it sucks as much as satellite tv I'll be pissed c) i notice they don't mention the installation costs and other fees other than i'll get a 200$ rebate d) how long is the commitment and then they give us THIS disclaimer

Stated speeds are not guaranteed. Actual upload speed will likely be lower than speed indicated, during peak hours. Download speeds may also be temporarily slowed in cases when patterns of system usage exceed the download threshold for an extended period of time. All services are subject to the HughesNet Fair Access Policy. If you choose to run VPN over satellite, your data speeds may be reduced by as much as 50-75%. Despite the high speeds, time-sensitive applications, such as multi-player "twitch" games, are also not recommended over HughesNet.

Download Threshold is the volume of data that can be downloaded continuously before the Fair Access Policy may restrict the download speed.

Each email account has 2 GB of storage. The domain of your email addresses will be @Hughes.net. HughesNet email is compatible with any email client that supports Pop3 and SMTP protocols

I don't even KNOW what VPN is but if time sensitive downloads might not work then what the heck do I want you for?

I have two of them. The first is for anyone, fanfic or original. I bought something from Writers' Digest a while back. I think it was called the Writers' Kit which I'm frankly disappointed in it but it did have a few interesting challenges. Like this one.

write a new story using the first and last sentences of your favorite novel/short story as your starting and ending lines If you decide to do it, hook me up with the link for fanfic (since I know most of us don't want to put original fiction out here)

the other challenge has to wait since the thing I need for it won't load right now so maybe tonight or tomorrow...

OUCH

One of the things I'm trying to do, heat aside, is clean up this apartment and TOSS stuff out.

I managed to irritate the brachial nerves (thank you arthritic spines in my neck) Can hardly lift my right arm and it aches like a toothache.

Okay so i'll sit and work on fiction instead.

Anyone want to come clean my place?

p.s. Roy is SOOOOOO long right now and he strategically places himself under whatever ceiling fan he can find in spite the a/c

In spite of the heat and pain, I did get a good portion of the living room cleaned up and half the garden is in. Pray for it. This heat is killer and my hose has a hole. It didn't yesterday. The neighbor asked if she could borrow it to fill her kid's pool. Now it has a hole. Glares.

I was thinking about my writing lately and am very pleased that a couple of my latest fanfic have gotten other people than normal reading them, especially the Dawn/Connor one which is decidedly different in spite of (or because of) the sexual connotation and the Greed/Ling one. It's always flattering when people read and comment on the different stories.
