WTF students?

I asked for rough drafts of the papers back at mid term. They're due on Thursday. I had TWO people email them to me demanding me to look at their rough drafts so they can fix them. Sure I'll get right on that.

My top student comes to inform me that no one studied for my muscle practical (I already knew this) He wasn't wrong. 3 of them thought the prostate was the gallbladder and at least three boys left the testicle question blank (as in i put a tag on a testicle and said 'what is this structure?') and three others called it semen (Um no, semen is sperm which is made here PLUS three glandular secretions. rescue me, please)


Graded my physiology exam. SIX out of 12 nurses (as in they're 2 year nurses who ARE working in their field and are back to pick up a 4 year batchelor's) could NOT tell me which way the chest/diaphragm moves in inspiration/expiration in spite of the fact that I told them if they FORGOT to slap their hands on their chest and freaking breathe and feel the chest wall (the diaphragm moves the opposite direction). THEY SEE PATIENTS. They don't know which way your chest moves.

They also do not know what captopril does. For the non-medical people it's one of the #1 high blood pressure pills, it's an ACE inhibitor. I even said this interfers with the formation of angiotensin II (which is what ACE does) and they STILL could not tell me it was an ACE inhibitor. They are handing you this pill and don't know what it is. Now, you can't know every medicine out there but you SHOULD know the top sellers. (especially since i gave it to them in class and said KNOW IT)
