Christmas at the Casino
Dec. 22nd, 2009 11:22 pmLucky Uncle gets us into the high roller Christmas Party at the Meadows casino. 3 hours where you can go gorge on food and booze. Let me see what did I (who has a very bad stomach and can only eat tiny bites devour):
beef tenderloin with port wine sauce (i could cut it with my plastic fork), ham with pineapple sauce (no thanks), colossal shrimp cocktail (literally as thick as two fingers) [I will not say just how MUCH of this I sowed down], vegetable crudite (why bother), asparagus spears wrapped with ham with dijonn dipping saunce (that made ham worth while), artichoke & crab dip (snarfed that up), crab rangoon with pineaple teriyaki glaze (yes please), coconut shrimp (pile on), mushrooms stuffed with sausage (better pass), mini beef wellingtons (ineed to start another layer), mini periogies and on the dessert table gingerbread men (which i shoved in my purse like the cheapass I am and am eating them now), gingerbread cake, red velvet cake, some other cake but I went for the hot bread pudding, all washed down with copious amaretto sours.
Then a magician-comedian Lee terbosic sat down next to me at our table. he was both adorable and very good at it. I loved when he got out his wallet and it catches fire. And just for
evil_little_dog I gambled on the Dukes of Hazzard (lost), the Monkees (lost) and for myself Star Trek (7 more medals and I level up on that machine) and Wolverton (werewolf theme and I won on that puppy), came up up 200$.
also went to that fancy "market district' store (3 football fields long) with the parents. Dad was totally freaked out but i got them all their gifts there, wild boar salami, proscuitto, 3 kinds of olives (alphonse, morrocan and ones stuffed with asaigo cheese), forest honey from germany among other things. they have an olive oil bar. I'm in heaven.
