Just got back from seeing the midnight premiere of Harry Potter. Wow, totally worth every penny. I didn’t know it was going to be in 3-D (our low rent theatre often doesn’t show those). This was my first 3-D movie and honestly, it could be my last. I was taken by the depth of the 3-D process but it made me ill. Seriously, had to look away when things started whipping around fast (like when they were getting into Gringott’s) so not to vomit on the hapless people in front of me.

Here have a look at my review. click here

I also indulged in one of my favorite things on the way home. I love driving at night with the windows down (even on days as cold as 50 degrees). Tonight (I’m often lucky with my midnight premieres) the moon was full. I took the long way home, left the black top and tooled around on roads that scare half my friends in the bright day light. I could have turned the headlights off and still be fine as bright as the moon was.

The only real downsides to tonight were all bodily. The 3-D glasses gave me eye strain and a vague headache. My arm was killing me since it was a full theatre (and my friends and I are not small women) so I was hunched in the chair (and today was my first day of active PT so I had already over done it) and mysteriously my good knee was bothering me and the theatre was hotter than holy hell. Still, it was a very good time.

just how long it takes to do these lectures. I'm not sure I left this task chair all day. That also leaves me little to write about but when has that every stopped me. I did get some editing and writing done and in a few minutes you can tune into [livejournal.com profile] jana_denardo and see what else is up over there.

I am reaping the whirlwind of my food hoarding habits by almost trying to make something from a 5year old package (yeah I tossed it) I've gotten worse about this since coming here. I mean just 6 years ago I got into an argument with a friend over whether or not the Y2K food stash was safe to eat 5 years down the road (I still maintain no)

I got some books today from Sci-Fi book club's sale. I got an Eisner-winning graphic novel that turns out to be written by Gerard Day from My Chemical Romance. I had no idea he wrote comic books.

Speaking of which, Alphas reminded me of my comic book roots. I'm not sure I really like it though. We'll see, there's nothing else on in that time slot I watch. I did enjoy Warehouse 13 (kinda hoping they keep the new guy) and Eureka was okay. Recording Haven now.

Day 282, I love everything about this picture )
