So now I have a sinus infection. I did figure out why I was so cold last night. Most people, when infected, use pyrogens to increase body temperature to burn out the infection. My body forged it's own path and my body temp was 95 degrees. Apparently we were going to freeze the bacteria to death. Just what I wanted snot in time for my interview. waah And for some reason my sneezing terrifies Kanda. poor thing, I sneeze a lot even when I'm not sick.

Check out the great picture [livejournal.com profile] astridv did for my request in her art meme. Spike in a Zoot Suit I love it.

I did cave and sign up for [livejournal.com profile] cya_ficathon. I haven't written extensively in the jossverse in forever. this is probably very dumb of me.

I accomplished almost nothing today. How disappointing

In other news I think I just accidentally set my big bang up so the wrong people solve the mystery...

I write to music a lot. The geeklove story I'm trying to find a plot twists the old Tam Lin ballad. I used to have one that I adore (and can not find on youtube) by Tempest (but I do see I can replace my old school tapes with slightly newer old school cds. Need to scrape the money up for that).

I did persue you tube for the one [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog pointed out by Steel-eyed Span (whom I love). I did find a few other versions and thought I'd put them here. In my story, Tam Lin gets taken back by the Faerie Queen, pretty much any time he manages to escape mostly because I wanted to do a modern version of this (and I would have no idea how one would do a geek story in the middle ages).

There are many versions of this ballad and I have loved it since I was a kid. I could sing Tempest's version by heart when I was in college (and yes I was naturally that dorky)

I have never heard of this group, the Tricky Pixie but I really liked this version, especially having both a male and female singer doing Janet and Tam Lin's parts.

The Steel-Eyed Span version has every piece of Pre-Raphealite art the person could find.

And probably my least favorite version of the group, is a very shortened version by the Mediavel Baebes but I like them in general and this one does keep more of the old Scottish words in it (which means its nigh uncomprehensible)

You can find Tempest here and you want to go almost to the bottom to Serrated Edge for a sample of Tam Lin and a song that I really like for an old Mercedes Lackey novel.
