You know the old slaying
Feb. 24th, 2012 10:04 pmI went to see a friend of mine in an audience interactive dinner theatre tonight at the French Art colony. I've broken my promise to myself since I've been here. After leaving Cleveland in the early 90's, I promised myself to act like a tourist whereever I live and get to know the place. See it all. In six years I've never been to the French Art Colony. I've only been on the old river front. Well now I know where the new wealth is in Gallipolis. The French Art colony is on river road and was Dr. Holzer's home (I think). So the theatre is pretty much not so much theate in the round but theatre in your living room... Next door was the old hospital. I will have to go down there in the spring and take pictures.
The dinner was just this side of 'save me'. I swear they dumped a sugar bowl in the sauce but at least the bread and dessert were good. We had fun. THe basic plot of You KNow the old Slaying is a small traveling theatre group of prima donnas and secret keepers are in town and one of them ends up dead. They accuse each other and drop hints then at intermission you get to talk to the actors and pull the information from them. Then you vote on the killer. It was fun.
This was also the building where they wanted to ghost hunt. It's right near the front door guys. Trust me.
It was a rough day/night for me. Last night my sugar crashed at 2 AM. I was so bad and nauseated I threw up the sugar water and it took nearly 2 hours to eat 2 pieces of bread (and I bit thru my lip in the process). It was high this morning but crashed right after exercise, scaring 2 of my friends. I got it back up but it crashed in the play and another friend noticed. I'm wondering if the exercise is doing its thing. I might back off the insulin and see what happens. It could be a good thing if I can only get it regulated right.
I did get to meet my friend's boyfriend tonight. I like him. He reminds me of another friend's husband. Why is it that the men who are the easiest for me to talk to are always taken in some way or another?
I reread my big bang while they were taking a test today. Got thru the first 5 chapters. It's much more readable than it felt like while writing though I can see dropped threads that won't get picked up til next story
