It was raining sideways
Apr. 26th, 2012 10:14 pmwhen i had to go out this morning. Between the hellish storm and this great new book I'm reading, I didn't want to leave this morning. I'm reading Brandon Sanderson's The Alloy of the Law which I didn't realize is a 'side deviation' from his Mistborn series. I've never heard of it but I'm going to go get it when I can. It is sort of like a law man in Tombstone has to go back to Boston after an accident leaves him lord of the family, late 1800's/ early 1900's tech level and magic. Then his smartassed partner shows up and add in one strong female character who actually manages to fight her kidnappers and you've got Alloy.
I had my final meeting (besides next tuesday) with the at risk exercise physiologist and forgot to bring my fucking gym clothes. brilliant. I soldiered on. Wow, she was hard on my trainer (he does sort of deserve it but let's just say our teaching styles are different). So after FOURTEEN weeks of intense training three days a week Ive:
lost a pound, lost a half inch off hips/waist and didn't control my blood sugar at all so basically it was pointless. I DID however get more flexible gaining three inches on that and my endurance is better but needless to say this did not accomplish anything I set out to do. HOWEVER, it is something I can take to the endocrinologist and anyone else I care to see afterward and say, okay I DID what you wanted me to do, explain these piss poor results.
Talking to mom today.
Mom - I saw a big black spot on the wall behind your dad's head.
Me - Grease? Dirt?
Mom - SHELOB! It was such a big wolf spider it looked like a baby tarantula
Me - and what did you do with Shelob?
Mom- killed it with a 2X4
