The heat isn't helping. I'm sorry but this heat belongs in the summer not it's 'unofficial start'. I should have 3 more weeks of not-hell but no such luck.
I went to look at the homes in Wellston and whittled the pile down to two. One is the Barbie Dream Ranch which is on the outside of town (sadly on the WRONG side, furthest from the highway so I'll have all those redlights). Honestly, it has a nice yard, the next door neighbor is a huge church and it is cuter than hell with peach everything. Peach door, peach shutters, peach poles, peach wreath and who didn't guess it would have lawn gnomes? The boxy older home that I could afford actually looks good but the neighborhood blows, shit heaped up in yards and abandoned houses everywhere. You know that street in most towns where the town has died and there's nothing but rusting metal in the yards and abandoned/burned out/busted windowed homes are lined up? That's almost ALL of Wellston. No need to guess why it's so much cheaper than Jackson.
The two homes on 327 were also on the wrong side. They're too far out. The tri-level house (out of my range but probably negoiable) wasn't bad but a) the road is low lying surrounded on either side by creeks, can you said FLOODED highway? Yeah I knew you could b) there were no less than three abandoned homes, vinyl hanging off the walls, wood exposed, HOLES in the wall then I realize they are NOT abandoned. There's laundry on the line and music coming from the homes. God, I can't even imagine being that poor. I really have no need to complain in that sense.
Mom sent me a bunch of home she wanted to see. Here are my two favorites (two that we agree on)
It doesn’t SAY doublewide but i'm betting it is. There IS music on that link but DO check out 2nd bedroom. I'm pretty sure i saw that in a porno once. I've been out here. It's like 2 miles from town on a quite country road but NOT too deserted or two far out and it's on the way to Athens. Not a pretty house and I wouldn't pay this for it but it's not bad,
I rather like this one It's a bit far in the other direction but not too bad. It's country and quiet. I'm charmed by the damn red door and I swear I'll leave the rainbow room a rainbow room and write my gay fiction under it. It has fruit trees! It also has weird crap in the yard (not seen here but trust me)
a neighbor to red door Hey ELD look at the Christmas paper wallpaper (it's a thing down here) Red door is 200ft bigger.
mom likes this Okay she likes the price tag. I need to run out there and see why it is so cheap. I think it's uglier than hell but hey hypoallergic with no carpets. It looks like a beach home waiting for a flood...
I came home with my groceries and just laid around sad all day. I got up to clean and was shocked to realize it was 5 pm. So there's a way to waste a day. I forgot to do a lot of things including voting at the fma contest (I'm sorry. By the time I remembered it was after 9). I hate forgetting things.
I'm disappointed in this whole area. I'm disappointed in not getting out of here. And I'm just overall disappointed in myself.
Also I decided to give up on the Ancient Greek Olympic story. I only had a vague idea and the time frame was too limited. I REALLY want to finish my Scarred Soldier story (still hoping someone might want to read it) and I would like to try my hand at that Lesbian fantasy story. I don't think I can do a 5-10K story justice in under a month with all I have going on. Oh well. Honestly would i have been eager to read the anthology? probably not. too many contemporary stories for me.
