writerly Ways and a little more

I had to run to Athens today to get the raw materials for my second research project on herbal antibiotics so I went to the Farmacy to get bulk herbs. Very glad I didn't get tagged for speeding. I can just see this conversation now. "Ma'am, why do you have all those baggies of green stuff in your trunk?" Especially since I had to go thru Meigs county and it's known for just one thing (world wide, I might add) Meigs County Gold (I.e. pot).

Somehow this took all day. Well I couldn't get there until noon since it didn't open til then, and since it involved 2 hours of drive time there and back, I made sure to get lunch at my favorite restaurant (Chinese) and to go shopping at the big Kroger's. Don't know why that took all day but it did.

I TRIED to think of something intelligent to do for my Writerly Ways since it's been weeks since I've done anything really. 2 hours in the car and all I got was how Reko and Nine argue over their first sexual encounter. Thanks brain.

So revision. That's what's been on my brain lately. Mostly because I NEED to do it. I've been failing to do it and I have to keep reminding myself, I can NOT be published if I never revise anything. (or finish it but that's another issue). I've put in about half of the edits mamculuna has sent me and the two chapters evil_little_dog has sent. I've finally gone back through the whole novel myself. I still have the edits zippitgood sent for a different novel sitting on a shelf.

I find revision tedious. I need to find better ways of coping with it. Maybe set a time aside and treat it like the job it is. Something. Because what I'm doing now just isn't working. How do you all handle it?
