I figured since I only use this journal once a year to do [community profile] fandom_stocking I probably ought to do something else with it so I don't lose it. This challenge sounded fun.

It's not easy for me to pick three of my favorite fanfic that I wrote. One, I've written so many of them. I've been writing since the 1970s and been putting them online since the late 1990s.I can't even remember the titles of something from last week let alone a year or so ago no matter how much I liked them.

The first link is actually a series and I see I'm missing the biggest story from it (it is a full fledged 100K+ novel) that I'll have to add in but not until Feb because I have two pro writing deadlines in the next few weeks, not to mention the promotion of my upcoming novel. It's a shame since Sorrow's Dark Array is probably the best of the series (it is on FFN). Here's two of the series, one and three. The Sorrow Series Oddly enough this is from the 2003 anime which I don't like nearly as well but that said, I think it's a very good series.

The second is Two Graves which is a longer work for Saiyuki, featuring all of them but especially Goku. Oddly Goku is not the kind of character I usually am attracted to but I like him a lot.

The third is Mad Bad and Dangerous to Know I can't believe this is now 11 years old. Ouch. I'm feeling my age here. This is from Angel the Series and Buffy the Vampire the Slayer. It's an alternative reality. (toward the end of canon for both series I started having things I wanted to 'fix.').

In your own space, promote three communities, challenges, blogs, pages, Twitters, Tumblrs or platforms and explain why you love them.

This was hard to pick just three.

[profile] gsd_rtfn This one is a lot of fun. It's low pressure for one, which I always appreciate. It's purpose is very simple, daily accountability for writing/editing progress (in theory art too but I've never seen anyone do that yet). It doesn't run all the time and when it does it's usually for a week. All you need to do is put up your daily progress and cheerlead for others. You get to see nice snippets etc. I'm a fan of anything that gets me writing.

Speaking of which, there's [community profile] origfic_bingo which is also low pressure writing comm. You get a monthly bingo card and you don't even really have to make a bingo. Find 5 prompts and writing original fiction. I know a lot of fan ficcers (self included) want to write original fiction too and this keeps you going.

Lastly try a seasonal one (that still has a few days to run this year), [profile] 12_daysofficmas (or if you want one on dreamwidth try [community profile] fandom_stocking.I love both because you can write any fandom. With the former you can write anything you'd like though it is R rated or below for the younger fanficcers to play too and the latter you write for someone. Either of them are good fun and let you play in multiple fandoms.

As a second bonus community, try St Jude’s Recycled Card program This is obviously not fandom. It's for St. Jude's and it's a great way to get the old cards out of your house and help children with cancer at the same time.

Not as bad as Boston or NY but enough to strand me at the top of a hill. We started taking down the holiday decorations. I swear I WILL put up my photos at some point. If you're doing the same, consider sending your cards here. St Jude’s Recycled Card program It's an easy way to help kids with cancer.

Other than that I've worked on editing my Wales short story. It has a very near deadline. Wish me luck with it.

We weren't going to put the lights on tonight but they look so pretty in the snow and we hardly got to see it this winter.

I've not had any time to read anything at [livejournal.com profile] 12_daysofficmas. I will but I don't know when. I'm still desperately trying to get those two stories done and out the door.

After seeing the Snowflake challenge around I finally decided to do it. I've had my dreamwidth account for years and until today the only post was to say I only have it for [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking. So I did use it for this since it looked like an interesting challenge....or it would be if I had time to look at other answers.

Here are my first two posts.

Day One

Day Two
