Last Day of Shopping

I got back in three days. God, how? How could three months go so fast? Mom and I went out shopping all day. I took something back to Michael's and got a Halloween related pendant. We did more shoe shopping. Nothing more frustrating and vaguely humilitating than that when it comes to shopping (well maybe bra shopping). After three places I did end up at Famous Footwear's bogo sale and got two pair.

lace-sided boots That I can wear to work and for steampunk cosplay. and also for work brown ones so now maybe I won't wear my black pair out before one semester is out.

Sears sadly had some truly shitty service. I hate that. I love the history of Sears and I hate seeing it go down like this. We went to T.J. Maxx and got some more of those yummy wedding cookies. I've learned NEVER to go to Costco on weekends. People were lining up for the freebies and you couldn't even move. I even went to HalfPrice books and bought NOTHING. Imagine that.

Writerly Ways

Because it's not too early to talk about Nano. I have too many ideas and no real plans unfortunately.

I have two new characters in my head. One is older. All I know is she's a librarian of an Alexandria style library and they're a bit militant and willing to go/do anything to collect something for the library.I've been toying with her for a while in a variety of settings. I'm leaning to 1915 tech with magic (so dieselpunk?). The other character is newer, sort of inspired by the headless monks of Dr.Who, though, with heads. Their facelessness is more in that they give up all identity including names. But this is all I have. I was originally toying with the 'must save the queendom' plot but that is SO over used in fantasy. I'm thinking more of individual missions but I have none in mind.

Mostly I'm just putting this here for reference. AsI like to alternate nano between non-erotic and erotic. It's erotic's turn. Here are the candidates

1. FINALLY finish my damn vampires in vegas story. I wanted to do this for at least two years now. I might not need 50K on this (I can fill that in with something else, yes I know that's not regulation) but I DO need a min. of 35K.I really don't want to sell this as a novella.

2. The sequel for Kept Tears The actual reviewers wanted more. In fact they wanted Bron and Bran (Rhys's twin sons) to have a bigger role. That means making one of them gay too. I can do that. I invision the Twylyth Teg as bisexual as a rule, but I have to confess it bothers me in m/m fiction that almost every character is gay. I don't mind when they're friends of the protagonists. It's not unlikely they know other gay men. But all too often everyone is gay and women don't exist. I don't want to do that in this. It doesn't seem realistic to me. I think I want to bring back one of the villains from the first, Alberich and have him switch sides after being beaten once too often by his boyfriend (but not as a lover for the twins). I wanted Rhys to get kidnapped at least for a little while but I have no real plot.Thoughts those of you who've read it?

3. Go back to the SF one with Kaleo and Aneurin. It's talking very loudly and I think I could get 50K fairly easily. The down side is I have no follow through. Both 1 &2 have stories out there and what good is a sequel 4 years later.

Sigh.
