Writerly Ways and random things
Aug. 24th, 2014 09:56 pmThe random things first. I made an attempt to water marble my nails. The results were mixed. I did learn a few things not to do. Also wish i knew where my non-glittery top coat is. Oh well the glitter helps hide flaws (what I learned was the lighter color should be the base and that i marbled better on my skin so I need to figure out a better way into the water.)
Happy birthday to
gaia_lulia. Hope it was a good day.
I tried to clean a little in between working on lectures and things. REALLY over did it on my arm. boy does that hurt.
I had a strange revelation today. I've noticed it a bit in the past but this was the longest I've been home in years. In fact, I've only lived with a roommate 8 years of my post-18 year old life. I'm a loner. However, I never noticed any impact on my creativity until the last few years at home. In college I had creative friends. I lived three years with ELD who also writes.
But when I was home, my creativity dried up. I did get the one story out of it (the one that was just contracted) but other than that, I could barely edit. I took a lot of editing home and did nearly none of it. I didn't even hear my characters voices much at night. Even the dreams went away.
I've only been back a few nights but the characters are chatty and the dreams have returned. It's like being around other people to talk to ate away my creativity. It's so very weird. I'm not sure why. It's not as if I didn't have plenty of time to myself without my parents bothering me.
I don't know why but hopefully it's over because I have a nano to think about.
