A very complicated day
Nov. 4th, 2015 11:58 pmToday is my brother's birthday (and happy birthday to
ishte as well!).
But I got home to find out my cousin's sister died today as well. The 2015 death march moves on and on.
Today was my OB/Gyn visit. Almost THREE hours later it was done. She was really running behind (damn them babies not being born on schedule) partially because she had a resident and a student doctor with her which definitely slows it down.
The waiting room was getting antsy. This old Hispanic woman who had been waiting with us all for at least an hour comes back out of the patient area and throws her hands up in the air. 'I'm 83 and I'm PREGNANT!' That got a good laugh. She sat down and kept making everyone laugh like when she saw the security guard. 'everyone look out, it's the fuzz.' She knew the guard and he said 'I haven't seen you in a while.' She didn't hesitate 'I'm getting better at hiding from the cops." She really had to be a pistol back in her day. It was interesting, four of us there, one elderly HIspanic woman, one 20 something African America with her daughter and two 40-50 something Caucasians (this is worth nothing because this area is SO DAMN WHITE). All four of us came here from Florida. All Four of say around talking about how much living in Florida sucks.
There is nothing bad on the mammogram and another concerning lump lower down is what I thought it was (a harmless cyst) so I'm good for another day. But now it's so late I get take out from BW3's and got pissed. This week they moved the popcorn shrimp from the entrees to appetizer so it no longer had a side and I said let's upgrade that side to onion rings. Well that went in as 2 appetizers which was many dollars more than expected. The manager's response was to fling me a new menu and told me to look at it. Hey there's a survey on my receipt. Wanna guess what i said to that?
I'll bbl with my nano crap but I will post the snippet now since it's technically before nano. It's the opening of the novel. Let me know what you think, seriously.

Nano Snippet Kaleo shattered the one promise he had made to his mother; He was going to try for citizenship.
“Are you sure?”
Kaleo turned, hearing the worry in Dovon’s voice. His lover’s soft brown eyes were moist. It wasn’t fair. Dovon was supposed to be going with him. Like the throng of young men and women crammed into the shuttle bay, he and Dovon wished for a better life. There was only one way out of the prison slum they had been born into. Being born was in the slum was their only crime, barring them from citizenship and a real life. “What choice is there?”
It was a choice his mother made him promise never to chase after. She never told Kaleo why and now she was dead. Kaleo assumed her reason for making him promise was born from her anger. Mom had been born into one of the Merchant Houses, top of the top. Being a fancy dancer hadn’t save her from murder charges and ending up in the slum. She had to hate those people.
