Unexpected things
Aug. 20th, 2016 11:33 pmLike waking up in the morning, rolling over to get your book off the night stand because it's early and immediately falling back to sleep mid-roll and waking back up hours later. Yikes
Unexpected like a 5 Am anxiety attack complete with whole body shivers thinking about my brother whose throat is inflamed and we're not sure if its severe allergies or Chron's and the thoughts of pretty soon I could alone in this world...provided I make it another 10 years myself.
unexpected like how broken hearted Kanda is about being back here and not being able to do anything about it.
Unexpected like my brother getting back his DNA test and only telling me it was shocking because he's 100% Kryptonian and Dad's response to that was 'who knew Jor-El stopped by Earth before sending Cal-El.'
Unexpected like road closures and the library being totally redesigned.
Like seeing THIS:
That's right, that's MY book Soldiers of the Sun at my local library. I was thrilled...then terrified. My library puts ALL fantasy books in YA. I know the local librarian and I know she knows what I write. I'm going to have to call her on Monday. They can't leave a gay menage book on the YA shelf! Someone will hit the roof and it isn't appropriate for kids under 18. It's not even LEGAL for kids under 18.
Still kinda cool I'm in a library.
I still have one more Portland post to make.
