Have I mentioned Kanda has a new lump on his neck? I take him to the vet tomorrow. It seems smaller than it was on the weekend so I'm hoping it's just an enlarged dorsal cervical lymph node. But often lumps in cats are cancerous. However, he's keeping his ear flattened on that side and when I'm scratching him he ducks that ear into scratching range so if we're all very lucky he just has an ear infection with swollen nodes. If we're unlucky I'm going to be very sad.

On a happier note, I can't talk about it yet per se but one of the faculty members who just needs to retire (he's in his 70s, unhealthy and hasn't actually taught worth a damn in years) might actually do it.

And hey, I seriously DO need your thoughts here so help me out if you can!

1. While I am going to leave Modified and Sacred with the publisher at the moment, I took a look at it. It's less than 1K away from being a novella (which means I could make a lot more from it if went that way). I don't want to entirely abandon this publisher but on the other hand they might not come back in spite of their best intentions. Would anyone like to see a SF story and offer ideas on where it could be expanded?

2. If you could read a steampunk story where would you like it to be set? Let's face it, London is so over done. Caveat, let's make it somewhere I can easily research.

3. Anyone up to quickly beta a couple of halloween shorts provided I ever move more than 50 words a night on them?

Using quote images for promotion I've done this and it did seem to work.

and it's been 85 the last two days. I am NOT amused.

Drop your Day Nineteen accomplishments here. (and late day Eighteen's if you'd like).

Doing this on the fly as I'm prepping for the zombie walk food drive I'm helping with tomorrow.

Because I know some of you will listen to these guys: photo e45ecad5d1b1b662008cd5946f6ef68490e431fbfda70a9d3da7e6c08118fb28_zpskmvnsfqd.jpg

The vet thinks I'm right. The lump on Kanda's neck is a swollen lymph node and he has an ear infection. Kanda also met a beautiful brindle English mastiff who wanted to hug us both, an English bulldog who wanted to lick him and a German Shepard who did, right thru the carrier gate. I will be keeping an eye on it though, just in case (vets here are better with farm animals than pets).

Hey I’m in the news or at least the library's web page.

Hmm I messed up when I was mainlining Welcome to Night Vale (I had gotten out of the habit over the summer and went back from the beginning) no wonder I was confused a bit.

I'm really struggling to write any more. Sigh. Let's hope I kick this before I get to nano.

Speaking of which I need to change my plot. hmmmmm

Oddly my parents were ganging up on me today to apply for a job, not back home, no at Brigham Young. I'm wondering if they're both high. I'm not sure where they got the idea I'd be happy at a religious school, let alone a Mormon one and what part of "I don't like the south west" is hard to understand. Yes, I've been there. No I don't like it. I don't even want to go to Salt Lake next May but I have to for work.

Mom DID concede that I'm right and every house for sale where I want to live is a piece of shit double wide.
