Surviving the holidays day 2

And I have at least 2 more to go. I finished opening gifts from friends (thank yous should go out tomorrow) and lazed about watching Homicide Hunter (call it research for surviving the holidays) until my cousins and Lucky Uncle and his wife got here.

Lucky Uncle was worried about me because I'm pale and one eye is horribly bloodshot. I thought I might have pink eye but it's not all pus filled. Who knows. At least SOMEONE cared I'm not well. My cousin's kids were there. Her son really likes me because I'm the only one in the family that's like him (reader, geek) and his sister was there. She has ...no personality really and neither does her boyfriend who she'll probably marry him. He's just like her dad, something of a deadbeat. She's already dropped out of school (in part for him, in part because of her dad). They tend bar owned by one of the Pittsburgh Penguins and yeah the tips are fantastic and they get to meet all sorts of athletes but they don't seem to grasp they won't be 20 forever. Soon they'll be too old to make the athletes and the elite clients happy and will be replaced but they don't see it. And they spend money like it's manufactured in their basement (Jeep Wranglers, 2,500$ rottweilier....)

Anyhow I digress. Most people were on their best behavior. The boy cousin fixed my tablet. It was a memory leak not a virus. Good to know (I have no idea what that means so I read up on it).

The Steelers won so bonus.

I also thought the Dr. Who Christmas special was fun.

Tomorrow I have to put up with Prejudice Girl and Hateful Husband. And again on Tuesday. I'm trying to get out of here on Tuesday. Tomorrow is dinner at Lucky Uncle where those two are invited. Sigh.

And then I learned George Michaels died. WTF 2016 (and I'm wondering if it was an OD or suicide).

it's 62 degrees on Boxing Day

What the hell? Went to Dad's brother's house (i.e. 2 houses down) to visit with my aunt and uncle (she made some tasty cookies) then came home to get ready to go to Lucky Uncle's house and meet with all the same people as yesterday plus my aunt's brother and his kids along with Aunt S2, Prejudice Girl and HHHateful Husband.

And then dad got sick before we left. He stayed home with a rotovirus or something (Here's hoping I don't get it). The dinner there was very much the same as everything I've had the last two days and drama free except no one could get Dad on the phone to check him out so we called his brother...who has a habit of exaggerating and said Dad was in the bathroom puking and falling asleep in there.

Mom and I headed home and yeah none of that was true but I'm hoping Dad still feels like crap because that means the dinner here tomorrow with Prejudice Girl and Hateful Husband will be canceled and they can't come up any other time. Here's hoping because my plans fell through (though I've considered just going to the casino and saying I'm meeting someone)

And my best friend is sick too so I hope she's feeling better because I'm not here for long this time.

Lucky Uncle gave me Three Olives vodka. I don't really drink martinis but maybe I'll try (It's rather good to be mixing as a white russian or a bloody mary.

And oh that cousin I mentioned yesterday makes nearly 4K a month in tips at that bar. Don't I feel like an ass for busting my ass in school all those years....
