Camristy opened his mouth then winced. Something raced up his neck and over his lips, forcing his mouth shut. Solan stumbled back and Tenaldi jumped to his feet. One guard pulled a sword and the other the new guns that were flooding the land making the restorative clerics jobs so much harder. The pattern over Camristy’s lips resembled tattooed feathers more than anything else. Camristy tossed his head like a restive stag, his jaw tensing. Slowly the feathers slithered down his neck and under his filthy tunic. “I can not say.”
