Writerly Ways

I had thoughts but the evening got depressing so they're gone. Instead I'll share this another open call the fix the world anthology. (oddly enough the link to the open call I posted earlier this week on Humans are Weird SF went dead). I have an older solarpunk I would like to try for this. I lost the finished version, printed a draft, then in the shower tonight remembered hey it'll be in yahoo's sent folder and there it was. So I have the polished version. It's about 300 words too long.

I could get about 100 of them out just by removing the verys, justs, reallys and that/thens. (which I've been spending the last two days and will spend tomorrow removing from my novella which will have to go back to the publisher late, especially if they want me to expand a date. I'm like reading about dates bores me, so hard to write). Anyone want to look over some gay solarpunk for me. it's 15,300. needs to be under 15 by the end.

I wish I were better about weasel and filter words but I'm not. Sigh. It's easy to start feeling like a bad author.

I did have something to smile about. Lou Diamond Phillips likes about 5 of my posts today. He really is sweet to his fans.
