Long Three weeks

It's 3 weeks almost to the hour that I arrived at Grant hospital in Columbus. Who could have guessed I'd be spending the better part of 2 months hospitalized? By the time all is said and done it'll be that much time. I'm only halfway through the process. Well fuck.

In case I haven't been perfectly clear, I am over the moon about having that fucking fixator off my leg. The pain of it was intense as the metal spikes driven into my bones tore at the skin every time I had to be moved. That's half the reason that nursing home was so hellish. I knew it would be I didn't want to go for that reason.

Now with the brace things will be easier. Yeah it still takes 2 people to haul me up but no metal tearing skin. I can lasso my foot and drag my leg around. Having the fixator gone improved my mood 100%. Am I in pain? You bet but with my pills it's bearable. Will I have a tough time weaning off 6 weeks of narcotics, I hope not but I'm prepared for it


How to know it was a nice weekend and everyone out and about? At least a dozen lifeflight helicopters have landed since noon.
