May. 3rd, 2021 08:06 pmAfter reading my research students' papers (I was woefully behind) I was going to call the skilled care place because they hadn't set me up with home PT. Well she called today and said can I come out in an hour? We're like yes.
I have never seen anything like this and I DID home health for years. She was late in calling me because her company told her to go to my Ohio address some 4 hours away and she couldn't contact them on a sunday for clarification (I believe this. You should see what they used to do to me). Her company, post Katrina decided with the loss of all the medical records in the historic flooding would keep records electronically AND on paper. Do you know how long that took?
Not only that she did a complete disaster relief thing with me, giving us resources if the house flooded or caught on fire or 1001 things that had nothing to do with anything, just them trying to be helpful. She also went over every drug. Asking me did I know what it was for and what the side effects are. I couldn't believe it. I know the answers and it still took forever. COuld you imagine doing all the education to someone who knows nothing of medicine? They were thorough. She also caught a level 2 drug interaction between plavix and my GERD meds but I need both. We're hoping the blood thinner is working because it coudl be deactivated by my proton pump inhibitor. WHY in two months did no one else catch this and in their system we had to call my PCP (not the vascular surgeon actually prescribing it). Another took forever thing.
By the end of over 2 hours, there was no PT plan because the skilled care center sent NOTHING and now she has to call my surgeon to find out stuff to make the plan. Whee.
in the meantime I subluxed my knee again. Dad blew up b ecause I have to go back to Columbus for follow up. We've mentioned this before but he's starting to forget somethings. I don't think I CAN send this to another orthopedist somewhere here, ditto the vascular surgeon. I need to call them and see if I can make these appts closer together rather than two days apart so I don't have to stay in a hotel for 2 days.
Even though I'm still busy I'm feeling bored and restless and realizing how addicted to TV I am. I can't watch it in my room as we only have two tvs and neither are back here. Sigh. It's finals now and I feel beat up.
