All I can say
Nov. 22nd, 2021 09:20 pmis I think our new provost is going to be good for our school. Crosses fingers.
My local orthopedic surgeon's office called to cancel my appt on friday. Sigh. I could wait til January or see his new partner on Wednesday. Fine. I'll see the new guy.
I also made a dentist appoint in two weeks. This new dentist I went to last year is not quite as nice (well he's nice but he's weird) as my former dentist but with him it's like 6 months to an appt. This guy I can one almost immediately. sigh again.
And since some of you have asked here is some cool online stuff.
Abney Park (steampunk) has a new Christmas Album and concert coming out Dec 11th. I don't know if I'm buying the album (probably not I already have a ton of holiday music I never listen to) but I'm doing the concert for sure.
Abney Park COncert
Boroughs of the Dead is offering their Ghosts of Christmas tour virtually for those of us who can't go to NYC. It's also the 11th (different time from Abney) I'm totally doing this too I hope. Find info and tickets here.
BBL with a snippet. If you're enjoying them let me know
SNippet (I still need a name for the organization!!)
“I want to go to the hospital,” Alessia told Javier. She hadn’t slept most of the night. When they had gotten home, she tried to rest but she couldn’t. She heard Grace crying in her room but Grace hadn’t answered her. Alessia spent the night on the couch with her IntelliVision and Atari game systems, volleying back and forth unable to invest in either. Laura was dead. Dan could follow her. Alessia could do nothing about either.
“You and Grace will be able to go soon enough. The ICU has very limited visiting hours,” he reminded her, drumming his fingers on his cluttered desk. The XXX’s main house in Broadhaven was another old Victorian, much more glorious than the battered Chi house. Normally Alessia enjoyed studying the stained glass, the carvings on the fireplaces and staircases or the artistic tiles. She found something new in them every time but today she couldn’t concentrate.
“Why was the demon even there, Javier? I thought that sort needed to be summoned. You said yesterday you and Viv were looking into it. Have you learned anything?” Alessia asked.
“It’s only been a few hours, Al. It’s going to take us longer than that. Believe me, we’re working on it. We can’ have someone summoning demons and letting them wander the streets. We wanted you and Grace to come here because your parents are on the way here to be with you. You might think about going home for a little while. Laura’s family is going to have to come collect her things and that might be too hard for you both.”
